I thought this was one of the cutest boutique type hotels in which I have stayed in a long time. Highly recommend if you need to stay in downtown Philly (lower numbers). Walking distance to Jefferson Hospital, south street and the liberty bell (or more if you like walking)
Would definitely stay again!

Enjoyed our stay. Had to change room and was put into one at the end of building. Much, much better! Front and rear rooms are very small for couples and have only one double bed. End rooms have 2 doubles and are very spacious.

My husband and I spent four days in the middle of April and had a wonderful stay. It was clean and comfortable. We had a room with a bay window - which I recommend - with two (!) chairs for sitting in. It was within walking distance of almost everywhere and near the bus/subway if you got tired of walking. I also liked the fact that the windows opened. I came to feel like home. We loved it and will stay here again when we are in Phildelphia.

By the way, there is no parking, but the garage nearby is very convenient and a good deal for center city parking.

Very convenient to the convention center, square and tourist areas. All within walking distance. Very nice and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Beds are a bit hard for me but some may like them. Breakfast was always great and a snack available in the evening before next adventure was much appreciated. Would stay again next time I have a conference there or need to stay in the city.

This hotel is conveniently located in downtown Philadelphia. Old fashioned building, complimentary breakfast, friendly welcome, useful addresses lists... A must, taking the better tips from both Europe and the US.

Room Tip: Ask for a bow-windowed room on one of the upper floors, with Pillie skyline

Returned to the Alexander Inn again in April to find everything the same - great. Clean, comfortable, friendly and a good value, the Alexander Inn is a charming alternative to a cookie cutter chain hotel..A very nice breakfast in a lovely space is another plus. Minor negatives are hard pillows and parking is a few blocks away although at a discounted rate. Will return!

I won't repeat what has been rightly written by others about rooms, location, neighborhood, breakfast etc. But I would like to report about the kindness and competence of the staff. They were particularly helpful accommodating our needs and had an inobtrusive yet personal way of showing they minded our well being, which is rarely to be found in a hotel.
