Description: Distrito is a vibrant celebration of the culture and cuisine of Mexico City with a menu focused on the diverse street foods served in what is known by locals as the Distrito Federal (D.F.). Distrito Tacqueria is our first-floor casual eatery featuring an approachable menu by Chef Jose Garces. Distrito offers a full bar featuring signature margaritas, over 250 tequilas and beer towers festooned with sugar skulls holding over 128 ounces of beer. The second-level dining room is a lively backdrop for Chef Garces’ modern Mexican small plates. Styled in pinks and greens, the restaurant features more than 600 hanging masks of Mexico’s Lucha Libre - and a four seat booth fashioned from an authentic VW Beetle, the official taxi cab of the D.F. Private Parties: Distrito welcomes groups of all sizes. Events can be booked throughout the restaurant and in our private dining rooms seven days a week.

I may have been here on the one night when the place is not crazy busy based on the popular reviews. A colleague took me here on Easter Sunday for dinner.

The food was delicious. We got the mushroom flatbread ("Huarache de Hongos") that I highly recommend. We split it, but I could have easily eaten the whole serving. I got the chicken tacos that were quite tasty and the three small tacos were nonetheless a generous portion. This pretty much filled me up, but we couldn't resist trying dessert so we got the chocolate cake. Yum.

The service was excellent, very prompt and paying attention to us throughout our stay. The ambiance at the restaurant is great. I wish I had realized earlier that you can actually sit in the car up front in the window. That would be fun to try sometime.:)

High level mexican food in a cool and fancy atmosphere. Never hat this great Wagu Beef Tacos before and the corn flatbread was outstanding. Like well known mexican food but with the finest ingredients, very nice decoration and best service.

Great food, great atmosphere. Very good use of spices, lots of flavors, not nec. heat. Lamb tacos were great, and platano con queso was incredible!
A little pricy but probably normal for Philly.
Easy walk from Penn. Reservations a Must! Very crowded.

When we walked in it had a nice vibe with very lively atmosphere(we did not have a reservation and almost did not get a table). The restaurant was not big (by American norms).

The waiter explained that food was Tapas style and as such we need to select more than one dish per person. The Enchiladas were small portion and very tasty with a rich sauce. The frozen Margarita (Blackberry & Ginger) tasted different from the standard fruity ones. The corn chips were home made very different from what I have ever tasted ever.

I would recommend this restaurant and would want to go again.

Great small plate type Mexican food that is unique & not your typical Mexican food. Our small group tried almost every vegetarian item, & some gluten free items. Don't come here to find heavy cheesy or oily items, but modern Mexican food with unique items to make them special. The atmosphere is lively with colorful art, tables & chairs.
