Description: Distrito is a vibrant celebration of the culture and cuisine of Mexico City with a menu focused on the diverse street foods served in what is known by locals as the Distrito Federal (D.F.). Distrito Tacqueria is our first-floor casual eatery featuring an approachable menu by Chef Jose Garces. Distrito offers a full bar featuring signature margaritas, over 250 tequilas and beer towers festooned with sugar skulls holding over 128 ounces of beer. The second-level dining room is a lively backdrop for Chef Garces’ modern Mexican small plates. Styled in pinks and greens, the restaurant features more than 600 hanging masks of Mexico’s Lucha Libre - and a four seat booth fashioned from an authentic VW Beetle, the official taxi cab of the D.F. Private Parties: Distrito welcomes groups of all sizes. Events can be booked throughout the restaurant and in our private dining rooms seven days a week.

We were there early and ordered a combination of sharing plates from both the happy hour and regular menus. For things like the nachos the smaller sizes worked well as there were two of us and we were able to experience a larger variety of plates. All of our dishes were fresh and flavorful and our server was very helpful in giving input on quantities as well as best choices. The margaritas we tried were all amazing. Excellent tapas style dining in a cool casual restaurant/bar.

We went there twice, and both times were excellent. The food is fusion-flavored Tex-Mex, very tasty, reasonably spicy and very well presented. Their lunch combo is probably one of the greatest deals in town (value-wise), the dinner menu features hi-end main courses.

This restaurant was set up by Chef Jose Garces, one of the Iron Chef show winners and a rising star. I attended a special function here where we were served 10 courses of a tasting menu in three rounds and a dessert. It included tuna ceviche, chiliango chop salad, los hongos huarache (corn flatbread with black truffles), queso fundido (tortillas with duck barbacoa), carne asada, shrimp alambres (shrimp and mushroom on skewers), rice and black beans, ejotes (green bean and white cheese) and then mango and orange liquor, pineapple cake, and churros. Washed down with a nice chardonnay. My favorites were the flatbread and truffles, the duck barbacoa, and the marinated shrimp skewers - my brain "deliciousness" center was activated by this food experience! Earlier we had a flavorful guacamole and salsa. This restaurant rocks!

I visited Distrito with a group of 6 people and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food and beverages. Since it's essentially small plates, we ordered a ton of different things and shared everything. Here are the highlights of the meel for us: Gucamole, Atun Ceviches, Tortilla Soup, Los Hongos Huaraches and Poblano Los Moles. I can't wait to have the opportunity to go back again. The ambiance and food are stellar.
