“Too expensive”
Reviewed June 28, 2013 via mobile

I stayed 2 nights. There was no free wifi in the room. No free breakfast. No fridge or microwave. One restaraunt that was overpriced. Room service also too high. Asked for late checkout. Told to call in the morning. Called in the morn and was told that they couldnot grant the late checkout and to call later. Business trip i did not enjoy at all.

We really liked the hotel, they did an excellent job with their recent renovation. The lobby has plenty of comfortable seating areas and trendy decor. The room itself was perfect, good size and nice bathroom as well. The restaurant prices I thought were on the high side. $25 for a breakfast buffet is outrageous. We were in there around 9am, and the buffet was not even set up yet. I decided on the omelet, which was mediocre at best. Plenty of restaurant within walking distance, which may save you some money. Nadia at the front desk was excellent, and all the staff I had interactions with were all very professional and friendly, housekeepers, doormen, bartenders etc. I found the location of the hotel to work quite nicely, being right off the highway, easy drive down the highway to Phillies games, and they have rental car at their concierge desk! So convenient! Will definitely stay here again if my travels bring me back to Philly! :)

Room Tip: High floor, exterior view

The location is definitely the selling point for this hotel. It is within walking distance to so many great restaurants and must see spots. The staff was friendly and nice and the rooms were great. I happened to get a room across from the entrance to the pool which made it a bit noisy for me with kids who were overly enjoyed entering and exiting the pool area right outside my door. The room itself was furnished quite nicely and i was impressed. No free wi-fi though... The downstairs lobby area was also wide open and roomy and had lots of seating areas to congregate and relax. Very nice hotel.

Stayed for 4 nights. Hotel is at great location, walkable distance from historic city, South street and Delaware river shore...
Room big and comfortable, good linen and pillows and blanckets, with daily newspaper, bottles of water and coffee maker at room. Bad side is that there is not free wi-fi internet connection.
Room and bathroom very clean... liked the fitness center and the pool (no warm water), but the jacuzzi was in maintenance.
Staff friendly, I would come back.

The location of this hotel is absolutely great. You are within walking distance of many great restaturants as well as night life. It's within easy walking distance of Freedom Hall and the old city center. Although the staff were very friendly, service was pretty spotty. Rooms are clean and reasonably comfortable. The weekend night we stayed, there were plenty of loud drunk people wandering the hallways about 2 in the morning, which was a bit annoying.

We came to Philly for a graduation, stayed at the Sheraton Society Hill for 3 nights. The hotel is clean, well appointed, and comfortable. The parking is a bit pricey, $42 overnight including taxes, but this is a major city, that's what you will pay. The valet service was accomodating and our car was always ready to go within minutes of requesting it.
We had a 2 queen bed room on the club floor, used Starpoints for payment. The room was near the elevator and the club lounge, it was nice and quiet. The club lounge had a nice selection of items for breakfast, we were able to get our day started quickly and had plenty to eat in order to skip a trip to a restaurant. The afternoon food was very good, varied from day to day, we were able to skip large dinners also. It was a time and money saver. It was also very nice to be able to access chilled water and sodas throughout the day.
The hotel is withing easy walking distance of the historical sites, we were able to see the librerty bell, independece hall, etc. all in one afternoon. There are pleny of local nonchain restaurants, pubs, and diners in the immediate area, all within a couple of blocks. We had dinner at the City Tavern across the street from the hotel, very pricey, but I recommend the experience.
The concierge at the hotel was very friendly and very helpful. She knew the area well, arranged for us to have borrowed umbrellas for the potential rain and knew the area well. She made sure we had maps as needed as well as good information on the "must-sees".
The only downside was that the pool area is in a bit of disrepair and the water was a bit chilly for our taste, but we were not there for the pool. If we wanted to spend our time swimming, we'd be in Hawaii!
We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Some rooms can be a long way from the elevator

We had a very good stay despite having an inside room with a view of the lobby instead of an outside view of the surrounding area because I like to 'people-watch' - - - The Hotel is only 4-stories tall with a large atrium covered with glass. It was difficult to find your room since there are halls that jut-off of the large square atrium area. Numbers are confusing. When we checked-in we were told that there were no rooms available and they would phone our cell phone to let us know when one was available. After 4-hours of waiting in the Lobby - I decided to go up and ask if one was available - - and it was and no one had phoned my cell-phone. Housekeeping could be a little better. We left our room about 8am and returned about 3pm hoping to relax and get ready to go out for the evening. The room had not been made-up. We complained to the Front Desk and it took them another hour before it was made-up. Despite a few negatives - - we would return to this hotel without any hesitation.

Room Tip: If you like an a view of the area - ask for an outside room. If you like to people-watch - - go for...
