Was here during the past weekend. No upgrade...was packed with what looked like three weddings! Great staff, zero complications. Internet (FAST) was taken off the bill. I didnt choose breakfast as the lounge was open all weekend. Breakfast was oatmeal, bagels, fruit, coffee, mini muffins, and various drinks. Afternoon was two hot dishes, fruit, and various drinks. Free beer and wine Monday through Thursday only. Water, sodas, and fruit available all day.

Parking garage one block away saves over $12 a night in parking fees. Was quoted $32 a night for valet. ZERO free parking on the street...must pay every day, free parking on street after 10 pm through 8 AM.

Great interaction with staff - always friendly.

Great location - in a nice histroric part of town. Near 2nd street bars and restaurants. walking distance to everything (i.e. love sign, bell, independence hall and south street).

Pet friendly with zero pet charges andplent of green space to run around with a dog park 23 blocks away.

Will return

The hotel has been completely remodelled and it is beautiful. There is a huge water sculpture that dominates the lobby when you first walk in. Check in with Stevanie was a breeze. As we walked through the hotel, the colors of the floors and wall coverings was very classy and calming. We had a king room on a corner, very clean and comfortable. If you eat in the restaurant, be sure to talk to Edith, she's been there since the hotel was about 2 years old! My husband had a cheeseburger, OMG, it was delicious! I know, I know, it's just a cheesburger, but they use top quality beef and everything with it was fresh and full of flavor. I had the salmon, asparagus, spinach, couscous, yum!. However, the warm pecan brownie with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, whiipped cream, fresh strawberries...I was very upset that my husband wanted to share! The exercise rooms are split into 2, aerobics and weights, very well set up. We had a great stay here and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. We had breakfast in the club room, very good, very convenient, our only issue was a very large group hit the room just before us, never a good thing!

I had some business in Philadelphia and took my wife with me to enjoy the city as well. We have never stayed at the Sheraton Society Hill before, but decided to book a room for two nights. It was a very pleasant experience. We had a corner suite. I was a little concerned that we were only on the second floor and that outside noise might be a problem. But the room was extremely quiet. We had a lovely view of the old original Bookbinder's restaurant building, now vacant, but still lots of history. This hotel is a perfect location for old city discoveries, close by lots of restaurants. Felt totally safe walking around the city day or night. Staff was attentive. Only complaint was that valet parking was a bit high for Philly and was charged an additional $10 per night for an SUV, which was not mentioned when the car was first valeted. All in all, a very nice stay and a great, newly remodeled property.

I stayed here for a business meeting, and was so pleased at how the renovation of this hotel has come along! We were here years ago for a different meeting, and it was so in need of a facelift, and it got one! The rooms are lovely, the meeting rooms are quiet and it has lots of nice seating areas in the lobby. Very good food is a nearby walk, too. I didn't pay for it, but from the bill slipped under my door, I see the rate is in the low 200's per night, not bad for a big city. Lots of history nearby also. I highly recommend it

Room Tip: Stay away from the indoor pool for noise

Renovations appear to be complete except for a few finishing touches. The public areas are particularly impressive. My room, while nice enough, still had a very ordinary feel to it. Despite SPG gold status, I think I got a standard room. The view from the 3rd floor on an east wing, was lousy. Good thing I was only here one night. But the room was certainly clean and no problems occurred during my stay. The bathroom was small. Street noise was minimal. The atrium lobby is a comfortable and bright place to hang out, and the adjacent restaurant bar offers small plates if you need a snack. There is a Starbucks in the lobby also, although it appears to only be open in the morning. The food service at my conference meeting was excellent. ATT wifi worked well and if you're an SPG member it's free. This hotel is on the very east end of the downtown historic district, with many nearby shops, restaurants and fun places to explore. This would be an excellent place to stay to explore the historic areas of Philadelphia.

Nice hotel located on edge of Old City within walking distance to Chestnut area restaurants, sites, Pier area and subway. Modern hotel that had some renovations going on while we stayed for one night. The room was very nicely furnished but the smell/odor from adhesives or glue was so overpowering that it was making us nausea. We requested to be moved to higher floor which the accomodated us for. Just make sure the construction is over or not going on your floor. Otherwise its a nice property. PArking is very expensive and overall room rate is not cheap. It was just over $200 with tax for one night. I guess thats about normal for a big city hotel during the week. PArking was valet and $32.

The price varies too much, and club level upgrades are few and far between these days, but this hotel is an old standby. I love the location - we don't have to drive into the heart of the city - we get off the highway, pop over in a few blocks, park at the nearby public garage, and generally never have to take the car out again for the rest of the weekend. Every time I go, it seems they have upgraded the place. The fitness center used to be really old and run down, but now it's brand new. The indoor pool and hot tub are great. Some rooms in the back have great views over the Delaware River. The location can't be beat for walking distance access to all the great restaurants and nightlife of Old City, as well as to South Street.

Room Tip: Avoid the second floor because it's directly above ballrooms and meeting rooms. If there's...
