I am really glad we booked the Omni Hotel in Philadelphia. The location is great - extremely close to all the tourist attractions and the hop on and hop off tourist bus. We had a very large room overlooking the Delaware River on the 11th floor. All staff were extremely friendly and nothing was a trouble. I would strongly recommend this hotel. There is an old world charm to the decor. The gym is perhaps one of the best hotel gyms I have encountered. This hotel has everything going for it. We stayed at over 20 hotels in our 6 week holiday throughout Canada and USA and I would rate this as being in the top 3 hotels we have stayed at.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Delaware River (preferably on a corner position. The views are very...

We reserved a room at this property with two queen beds. We were traveling with our 2 kids and need that sleeping set up. When we arrived, the desk person said all of those were sold out and we had a room with a King and a pull out. After a day of travel, we were less than pelase to consider sleeping three in one bed. Asked for the manager who imediately gave us another king bed room and solved our problem. They actually let us keep that arrangement the entire stay so we did not have to move all of our stuff a second time.
Great location as well

We just returned from a lovely stay in Philadelphia. The hotel was a high point thanks to very friendly service, perfect location, and thoughtful extras. Every night the staff brings up complimentary milk and cookies for the kids, and every morning they left 2 complimentary beverages of our choice at our door at a time selected by us. What a nice touch! We ate in the Azalea restaurant for breakfast and it was just as nice.

We stayed on a Deal Chicken special rate which made this a real steal. Even with this third party booking check in was still a breeze and express checkout flawless.

Thanks for a great stay!

Our stay in Philadelphia was so amazing!! The Omni Hotel is directly across the street from Independence Hall! We felt safe in the city & had easy access to our touristy destinations by foot :) The service at the Omni was top notch!! The front desk was welcoming, our room was ready (& faced Independence Hall!), the Concierge was welcoming & very helpful, the valet guys were prompt, the restaurant was grand with good food & wine & the waitstaff was sweet, and our every need was catered to :) I travel frequently & highly recommend the Omni Hotel if you are visiting Philadelphia!!! We will definitely return :)

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing Independence Hall :)

We stayed for two nights to see the nearby tourist sites, and couldn't have been happier with this hotel. The front desk service was superb. Any "touristy" question we had was enthusiastically answered.

On to the rooms. Not only were the rooms clean (any hotel can do that), they had an upscale, classy feel to them. They were also very well insulated, as I could scarcely hear anything outside the room.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the Second Bank and the park surrounding it. Very nice view.

My husband and I spent four nights at the Omni for a wedding. The service was impeccable. Our room was very large. The bed was very comfortable. The morning beverage delivery was very nice. We attended a rehearsal dinner in the hotel and the food was good, particularly the salmon.

Parking at the hotel is very expensive. It's a little cheaper if you self-park at the garage on 4th Street. There are also cheaper lots on 2nd Street. If you don't mind walking a few blocks, you can get coupons for area parking lots on the Central Parking website.

The hotel is convenient to most attractions, particularly the Liberty Bell. If you're traveling with children, walk over to Market Street to the Franklin Fountain, an old fashioned ice cream parlor.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a park view. The end units on each floor are about 100 square feet larger than...

We had stayed here years ago and it was delightful, now it is an overpriced decaying white elephant. We checked at 10:00 PM. This was quick and efficient but we were hardly greeted,
the lobby was empty, we were handed the keys and presto.

The room faced Spruce and we could hear the buses riding by all night. Not good for restful sleep.

The bathtub's drain did not work, we had to lift it and wedge in the metal soapdish to keep it sort of open and this took a bit of time and effort. The tub itself looked dirty but it wasn't, there was a chip in the enamel the size of a tennis ball and it looked odd.

The beds were excellent. There was a new Bose music system in the room but there was no docking port for phones or i-pods.

The hotel needs a good facelift, stat. Both facilities and service need attention. There was not much service, only spoke with check in clerk for under a minute and never saw anyone else, we saw no personnel. We were not asked if we needed help with our bags, parking, etc. It felt a bit odd. We were coming from dinner at one of the hottest places in town, their inattention was not due to our apperance but rather to lack of interest and effort.

In the morning we saw what looked like regular tourist groups, not what you expect at an Omni.

Location is convenient to the historical sights but it does not compare to Center City where there are fun restaurants and bars, funky boutiques, etc. I have stayed at the Latham ( top notch) and the Alexander ( when everything else was booked at Thanksgiving) and both are far better.
The Omni is not awful but you can do much, much better.

Room Tip: If you still have stay here ask for a room facing back and in a high floor.
