“Outstanding 4 star near city hall”
Reviewed August 1, 2014 via mobile

I am a frequent visitor to Philadelphia and the Loews is one of the best hotels in the city. I got a great deal on Priceline bidding.
Excellent service is provided throughout. At a time when hotels are tightening on service, Loews Philly delivers. I was promptly greeted by the valet and bellman as I arrived. Check in was prompt and early 11:30am and the front desk was very helpful. Despite the discounted room price, I was given a nice sized room 2813 with a fabulous view of city hall and center city's skyscrapers which are nicely lit up at night.
The room was in excellent condition--clean and well appointed. The bed was luxurious. Decor is modern.
The lobby bar is a great place to relax with friends and dinner was excellent.
Room service breakfast was on time and perfect.
Checkout and valet leaving outstanding.
All employees were pleasant and helpful.
The hotel is well located 1/2 way between the historic sites and the museum district. Macys is next door. A great assortment of restaurants and bars nearby.
The pool and gym are excellent and spa services are available.
I prefer the more intimate size to the large convention sized Marriott across the street.

First Class hotel and staff. My family and I came to Philadelphia for 5 days to site see. The Loews experience made the trip even more positive and memorable. Everything was outstanding. The doorman, bellman, and front desk staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Everyone from the hotel staff we encountered wanted to please us. Everyone was knowledgeable about Philly, how to get around, where to eat and shop, etc.

Been to many "top rated" hotels, but never had an experience where EVERYONE was knowledgeable and helpful. Everyone, from the front desk to the bellmen and the parking attendants, was friendly and helpful. In some hotels, the friendliness seems to be forced, but here I had the feeling that it was genuine. Requests and problems were responded to within minutes.

Room Tip: Try to get the east side. (We didn't and the view wasn't the best.)

Not an ideal layout for large conferences & they won't bother to accommodate your reservation request (double/King/etc) so you have to specifically ask them when checking in. Beware of unwashed linens! They smelled unclean and had random hair in it when we pulled back the covers. Also, don't sit on the sofa; it does not get cleaned/vacuumed. Beds were lumpy and uncomfortable and you can clearly hear room doors slamming shut at all hours of the night.

Don't stay in room 2221 it felt as if it was hanunted (lamp flicking off and on and I couldn't get it to stop--it began at 1:00am--until who knows I had to be up at 5:30am and by that time it had ceased). However, the hotel in general was very plus and modern...very friendly staff.

be prepared for small room, no coffee, rude service, slow elevators, and staff that lie to you to get you out of their face, the food in the bar was advised to me to avoid and i had to walk over a block to buy a bottle of water because the hotel doesn't sell that

The restaurant and bar have extremely slow service at all times. Room service is much better and has a most extensive menu..
The hotel staff does not know the facility and what is available where. The staff repeatedly promised to do something, but did not.
