“MSDC Gala”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

attended a business affair at the Loews on Friday 12/07/12. It was a pleasure from the beginning to the end. everyone was so helpful and friendly. The room was beautiful and spacious. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Philadelphia for business or pleasure. Also the location is great, near City Hall and shopping.

I have to give the 1 star based on housekeeping. I would have to say I give the housekeeping manager a 5 star based on his promptness and response. We came in early and Lo and behold they had a room ready. I was shocked because of it being 9 am. Well we put our stuff in the room and went out to rainy Philadelphia. Later in the day we went to eat with my mom and dad and then we went to the bar when we got back called Sole Food. They have a great chocolate martini, my wife loved it! Ok so now it is really late so we go up to the room, and crawl into bed, unfortunately not turning on the lights.
So, the bad. We woke up and we had slept in dirty bed sheets. It appears to have been a nosebleed on the duvet and shall we say that time of month for someone for under the duvet. Needless to say we were grossed out when we woke up the next morning. It is really sad when you inspect your clothes because you are scared it might have been you and of course out clothes were fine.. Of course the gross out factor is worse when it wasn't you.
So, the good. The manager Arvel came up to the room, looked. Offered to comp the one night and asked if we wanted anything else. We actually did not. Can't really fix something like that. I would have probably comped both rooms and offered a future weekend stay or bumped our room up to a nicer room the last night.
Super nice customer service. Navy won the game so our son got to stay overnight with us. I asked for a roll away bed and once we got back there was one in the room.
I do have to give kudos to Arvel and customer service.
As for the rooms, other reviews are correct. They are dated. They still have large box televisions. But I thought they were large rooms. The location is great. My parents stayed at the Courtyard Marriott and it was not any better.

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us. I do apologize for the chain of events that has transpired. This is definitely not the Loews Standard and does not exemplify the exceptional service we offer to our guest. Please reach out to my office directly, as I would like to have the opportunity to properly research and investigate as well as speak to you personally.

Super efficient check-in and a large room with a wonderful 23rd floor view of City Hall. Packed and a little chaotic during the Army-Navy Footbal weekend but everyone was very friendly and helpful. Good beds and linens but could use some larger, firmer pillows.

this hotel is wonderful! i stayed here for a wedding and the wedding was just an hour away. everyone was staying here fromt he wedding. we had a nonsmoking 30th floor room and the views were amazing! the rooms were conecting to three other rooms becuse it was alot of family. my great aunt had a heart attack here in the middle of the night though and the staff was very freindly and helpful in dealing with that . the room was a little on the small side but it was very clean and well worth the money. its right by the hard rock cafe and right in the middle of philly. but the only complaint is that it is a little hard to find especially in such a large city. overall this hotel was great!

Room Tip: Get a room on a high floor best views!

My family (including our golden retriever) just spent 3 days at the Loews in Philadelphia. It is a pet- and kid-friendly hotel, in a central location. We had a corner room with 2 double beds, which was perfect for 2 adults, a kid, and a dog. Everything seemed clean, but I did not like the flat, old-feeling pillows. The hotel also has a distinct scent, almost like a perfume? Service is attentive and very friendly. We valet parked our car for the entire weekend and walked (or took public transportation) to several sights. The hotel is a short walk to Reading Terminal Market and the LOVE Park; Macy's and City Hall are a couple of blocks away. One problem I had was finding a place for my dog to do his "business," because it's definitely a concrete jungle there!

Room Tip: Corner rooms are very spacious and have nice views.

We really liked the Lowes Philadelphia Hotel. Super easy check in, valet parking and great walkable location to everything. We booked a luxury king corner room. What a great room with a view of City Hall. All the windows made this a really bright and luxurious room. The bed, linens, bathroom amenities, and flat screen tv made this a very comfortable and yes luxurious room. There is a coffee maker, mini fridge, nice bathrobes. We got a fantastic rate right on the hotel website, making my pleasure with the room even greater.

We were traveling with another couple, so we were concerned about them being happy with our choice, and they were not disappointed. Reading Market is right there. We walked down to take a carriage ride in Society Hill, Olde Town. We walked to Rittenhouse Square, and JFK Love Plaza. There are so many restaurants and bars around.

We only stayed one night, so we did not use many of the hotels amenities. We hope to stay longer next time. We would choose this hotel again on a future visit.

Room Tip: Spend the extra money for a corner room.

My husband and I spent a week at the Lowes Philadelphia Hotel recently. The location was perfect for us, and for anyone planning on doing a lot of walking around, sightseeing. It's about halfway between the Independence Hall/Liberty Bell area and the museum area, and a short walk from the Rittenhouse Square shopping area. There are many great restaurants nearby, and all of the holiday events are within a few blocks (the Christmas market, the train display at Reading Terminal Market, the Comcast and Macy's light shows, etc). It was just a great, great location.

We also loved the staff at the Lowes Philadelphia Hotel. Everyone was super friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The amenities were nice -- it has probably the largest hotel gym that I've ever seen. Lap pool is small (just two lanes) but was usually free when we were there. Everything was clean, bed was comfy...what more could we ask for?

Room Tip: We were near the elevator, and heard an occasional noise but not much.
