My wife and I stayed here from August 1 through August 4th. We were in town to do all the historical tourist stuff and catch a Phillies game. The Loews hotel was a perfect choice. First let me start off by saying what makes this place great is the staff. Everyone we encountered that worked here was very pleasent and helpful. To us that goes along way. The hotel is a unique historical building. The room was very large and had a very large bathroom with a great view of the city (we were on the 26th floor). To us it was a gorgeous hotel.
The location of the hotel was perfect as well. Its maybe a 15 minute walk to all the historical attractions. If you gout the door and take a right you will be at the Liberty Bell etc. If you take a left you can walk to City Hall, the Masonic Temple etc. Also when we went to the Phillies game there is a SEPTA station a block from the hotel that takes you right to the game in maybe 10 minutes.
The hotel has a very nice lobby bar with great bartenders. The drink prices are a little high but oh well.
Anthony at the front desk was extremly helpful in helping us plan our days and providing directions and he was always pleasent and rembereed our names( again may seem like a small thing but it goes along way) I highly recomend this hotel and I am sure if we got back to Pilly we would stay here again.

Room Tip: For great views of the city choose a higher floor.

Staff was very helpful and polite. The club level offered some small luxuries. The conceriege breakfast was somewhere between eloquent and continential. I was slighty disappointed with the absence of hot cooked foods, but the smoked Salmon, abudant fresh fruit, and hot beverage bar - flavored syrups and honey- satisfied our stay. The city view was outstanding. The location was ideal and allowed for easy foot travel to Chinatown, Walnut street shopping, and most historic sites. It was also next to the tour bus stops, and near other clothing and vending retailors. We very much enjoyed our stay; however, the roomservice was over-priced and slow. The menu lacked any real child friendly alternatives. My children wanted chips or Doritos, and the hotel lacked any type of juvinile snackfoods. I settled for two orders of French fries. These two bowls of fries took much too long to arrive cold, and with an 18 dollar price tag. This was my only true disappointment, but it did not ruin my stay. I realize roomservice is often over-priced, but did expect hot 18 dollar fries. My overall stay was enjoyable and other than the roomservice the staff went above and beyond. They even gifted (due to the staff closing the drawers before our request) us with free bottles of vitamin water. The staff went the extra mile entertaining my toddler, while providing me with local directions. The lobby's free evening lemonaid was tastey and refreshing after walking the city. I would recommened this hotel, just skip the roomservice.

Room Tip: The small cost of upgrading to a club level provides breakfast,a great city view, and silence(from s...

Staff is wonderful first class! The hotel rooms themselves are showing age. They are very classic 2000 when it was renovated and opened. My room had a cordless phone it shows its age. The facilites and the fitness rooms are wonderful! The bar is great! The sleep was great! Just like I said it is a wonderfully convienant location to everything!!!!!!!

We booked a queen deluxe room at a special rate with $25 f&b credit. The room was spacious, but could have more so if the desk was against a wall instead of jutting out into the room. Also, the TV unit is rather bulky and the TV is old. Hope they put flat screen TVs in all rooms with a smaller drawer unit. The room has a Kurig coffee machine with complimentory coffee capsules. The bed was very comfortable, aircon worked very well, shower pressure was on the weak side, but sufficient. Bathroom has a tub with shower curtain. No walk-in shower. The hairdryer is on the back of the bathroom door. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was a problem and always done promptly and it seemed done with pleasure. Breakfast buffet was lacking in options, but sufficient. A 20% service tip was automatically added to the bill without any prior notification.
The hotel has a small indoor pool with a steam room and sauna in both the mens and womens locker rooms. Our booking did not include wifi which cost about $10 per day. Never asked or tried to see if wifi was free and accessible in public areas. If you check-in early and no room is available they will store your luggage and call your cell phone when the room is ready. So, you can leave the hotel instead of waiting in the lobby. Also, guests can help themsleves to complimentary Starbucks coffee in to-go cups from the breakfast buffet. City Hall, Reading Market, Macys, Starbucks and much more in the immediate vicinty. The hotel is also a very short walk from the Greyhound Bus Station and Chinatown. Likewise, it is mere minutes to the area with a vast number of dining options. We had an excellent cheese-steak sandwich at Caribou Cafe... this is a French restauarant so the sandwich was not the standard Philly Cheese-Steak, but better! Panang Malaysian Restaurant in Chinatown served very good quality food with warm and efficient service.
Over all, we recommend The Loews Philadelphia Hotel.

The location is great, very close to all the mayor attractions. All within walking distance. The corner room we got was very clean and with a great view of the city. Service is superb. Some of the hallways and lobby can use some renovation, but overall we had a very pleasant stay in this Hotel.

This was a completely enjoyable stay from the moment I walked in to the time I left. Every staff member I encountered was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable, whether I had questions about the property, the neighborhood, or anything else. Great location, too, right in the middle of everything.

The room was large, comfortable and clean, with nice extras like robes in the closet, lighted magnifying mirror in the bathroom and a Keurig brewer for excellent wakeup coffee. Bed was comfy and there was a good choice of TV channels.

The ONLY negative was that in-room wi-fi was $10.95 a day and use of the computers in the business center was that much for 20 minutes. Yikes! But there was free wi-fi in the lobby and the lounge, which offered a comfortable, quiet place (during business hours, anyway) to log in to a web conference using my iPad, so I got my work done anyway.

Spent a weekend with my mom and picked the Loews for it's location and reviews. We had a note on our reservation that we were staying for our birthdays. Upon checking in, Casey at reception warmly greeted us and gave us great food reccomendations in the area. We were also upgraded to a room on the club floor (with an amazing view) which was a great birthday perk. Thanks again Casey!! The hotel is across the street from the market and a block away from Macy's. Although we didn't use, there is plenty of mass transit nearby and always a taxi line outside. We went down to the restaurant for happy hour and although some of the drinks were a little exotic, couldn't beat the prices. The room was fairly large and had an amazing view of the city. The beds were very comfortable and bathroom was quite big. All of the staff was amazing and because of that, we would definitely come back on our next trip.
