We've been staying here since the hotel opened in the 80's. It's not the glitziest FS but it's just a great place with consistently excellent customer service, year in an year out. The senior management is eager to please and takes very seriously any constructive thoughts we express. Likewise, they revels in knowing they've done a great job and appreciate our loyalty. Yes, perhaps there are newer, trendier spots. But the rooms at this FS are always immaculate, the staff is solicitous in an efficient way and follows though at every opportunity. Contrast to other high end hotels that apologies for mis- steps but never seem to correct them.

The rooms are spotless, pleasantly decorated and spacious. We generally book an executive Four Seasons Suite - a small suite with French Doors that separate living area from bedroom. Cozy and comfortable and really fresh. The sofa opens into a bed for a child. Perfect. Even the standard rooms are pleasant. I suppose I would try to avoid the rooms that face onto 18th (?) street lest you enjoy looking at hideous architecture in the form of an unfortunate hotel. I also like that the "courtyard", which some rooms face, is not a euphemism for a hideous walled in, internal "shaft" of interior rooms all facing each other. The courtyard is an open garden spot that is landscaped and faces an attractive office building at a very decent distance. It's an area that is attractive enough to host small outdoor cocktail parties or weekend bridal showers.
As has often been noted on this site, the bathrooms are old fashioned. And, in the negative, amenities for guests (especially return guests) has become very stingy over time. In years gone by we were treated to champagne or wine, large fruit bowls, cheese platters, etc. Now...you are lucky to receive a tiny plate of two small pieces of fruit OR a tiny plate with perhaps two cookies and a free bottle of water. On subsequent nights the water is not gratis. But it should be. It's basic.
Great selection of pay per view movies.
Maintenance is dispatched with alacrity if any little glitch occurs in the room from TV movies to a thermostat that might be setting the a/c at an ever do slightly cooler temperature.
Of course the hotel houses their famous Fountain restaurant. But room service and a movie is a delightful alternative to an expensive multi- course dinner.
It's just refreshing to be treated so well and listened to so caringly and attentively by the staff over the years.

The neighborhood is really not that inconvenient to the sights in the historic area or Rittenhouse. Even if you MUST take a taxi....the taxis are inexpensive in Philly. plus, if the iconic Franklin Institute, Science Museum and Art Museum are high on your list you are practically sleeping in them.

And one last thing: the view of Logan Circle and Ben. Franklin Parkway is a world class view.

Brent Michaels (the new GM) and his team are just great.

Lovely rooms in great condition, albeit very traditional decor, coupled with stellar service has had me coming back literally countless times.

Room Tip: Avoid facing the other hotel opposite entrance.

I have a son at U Penn and come to Philadelphia 3-4 times per year, whether for sports events or Board meetings. It is such a pleasure to stay at The Four Seasons that I just had to write. The rooms are immaculate and the beds so comfortable...everything feels and looks impeccably clean. The restaurant in the hotel, by the fountain, is excellent whether for breakfast or dinner (or lunch, I would expect). Service by all employees - front desk, concierge, bellman, room service delivery - are uniformly excellent. And their complimentary coffee machine in the lobby makes the best mochaccinos! I look forward to every one of my stays here and have not been disappointed.

Just stayed in this hotel for one night and very much liked it. I checked in late and left again early, but the room was very comfortable, clean, and service was very good. Altogether great value for money (paid $185), I will try to always stay here when I am in Philadelphia.

The only problem here is that some of the rooms have bathrooms without a door so if you are up before your partner and want to wash up, you need to turn on the lights and they are bothered. One day, they will fix this. Otherwise, a terrific hotel.

We were in Philadelphia for a business trip and stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel. This is a beautiful well-appointed hotel in the middle of Center City. The decor was stunning, the rooms were spacious, clean and had great amenities. The service staff was exceptional, from the valets to the people at the front desk to all other staff at the hotel. Everyone made you feel so welcome and pampered. Several times we were sitting in the lobby waiting to meet someone when at least one of the service staff asked if they could get us some bottled water or anything else. The restaurant was elegant with a fantastic and tasty menu. If you want to be pampered and enjoy a hotel in Philadelphia, the Four Seasons is the only one to try!

Room Tip: All rooms seemed to be spacious, quiet and well-maintained.

This is a true ***** hotel with all that comes with it.

We got a good deal on the normally substantial rate, so booked this hotel based on location and amenities. We were not disappointed. Everything is perfect: the welcome, the reception, service, staff, room, decorations. They have eye for detail: a little corner for pets just outside the main entrance, free coffee in the lobby in the morning, flavored cold water in the afternoon, the maid leaving a little present, the friendly staff in the gym (which, BTW, is free and very well laid out, including pool).

The location is perfect, close to the city center and the famous Philadelphia Museum of Art (both walking distance).

One minus: the famed Fountain restaurant was closed, which we only found out after checking in.

All in all, a great hotel where you will love to stay!

We had our wedding in Philadelphia on 9/22/12 and virtually all of our out of town guests stayed at the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel. Our guests had an absolutely wonderful experience. The rooms were beautiful, the lounge areas turned into our family hangouts and and the hotel decor was perfect.

The Four Seasons reservation team was amazing...coordinating and accommodating people from all over the world. We had guests from as far away as Singapore. The Four Seasons Philadelphia impressed them all! We couldn't have been welcomed by nicer people...from the bell men, to the greeters, the concierge and the front desk staff...all were so gracious and welcoming.

The day of the wedding couldn't have gone any smoother...the bridal suite was the most beautiful and luxurious room a bride and groom could have asked for. Of course there were many small and meaningful touches they did for us....pastries, strawberries, notes, welcome gifts, but they even SURPRISED us with personal MONOGRAMMED pillows on our wedding night. The views of the museums and fountains were breathtaking. They also gave us a special get ready room that was perfect for all the bridesmaids.

The Sunday brunch setup and banquet team were outstanding. It was like a surprise 2nd wedding reception...made beautiful entirely by the Four Seasons.

The hotel spa was just what we needed the day before the wedding. Relaxing massages and flexible scheduling to make sure we made it on time to all of our wedding events. Our guests enjoyed the pool very much...especially the children.

We enjoyed the Four Seasons so much we stayed an extra day after the wedding. Our family and guests were so eager to get back to the hotel between wedding events and trips around Philly! Our departure from the Four Seasons was a sad, sad time.

We love the Four Seasons in Philadelphia and would highly recommend it for your wedding weekend. It is simply the best hotel in Philadelphia.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view are on the North and West side of the hotel
