This collection of art rivals some of the more famous and landmark museums of fine art. The building is a behemoth and a little confusing but once you are in the collections, they are magnificent. The collection features archtectural tableaus from Asia, and the Far East; a sizable collection of European Impressionists, and a hardy collection from American masters.

Subway system very useful to attend events. Avoid the crazy parking. Great food choices, a few blocks of all range of restaurants, "green egg cafe" great food, good value.

The PMA boasts a beautiful collection in an exciting environment. A world class museum and a must see for visitors to Philly.

The museum building itself is gorgeous and in scale and decoration is truly an awesome reproduction of an ancient structure. Unlike neoclassical buildings this building is a faithful reproduction of an ancient temple. It is a hybrid in function and shape, however the full color statues of the Greek gods, the scale, roofing and materials are more aligned with a true ancient building than one is usually used to seeing in the United States.

Now for the actual art inside, The religious and Asian art were expansive, I appreciated how the museum focused heavily on architectural art on the second floor. I spent the better part of a day in here and only saw the second floor, so this is somewhere a true art and history aficionado can spend a couple days. That is great news because for $20 you get passed for two days! I highly recommend this as somewhere you must go while in Philadelphia.
