The place is actually on Drury Street off of 13th. Food is awesome and plentiful. Cold beer and cold air great after a day of walking.

“Bangin'”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2013

well 7.30 on a friday evening was not going to be quiet hour.. the music and general craic was well up on the decibel quotient, but the beer menu was commodious, best of the bunch being the Philly brewery's Pale Ale, a wonderful drop. They rather quaintly claim to serve their beers in pints, don't be fooled, these are not the pint measures that past muster in an English boozer, but, hey! quality over quantity as my grandma used to say. The food is unexceptionable but arrives very fast, service is generally excellent.

“Great place for a beer and Buffalo wings”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013 via mobile

Just came from there with my collegues after a hard days work. Yes it was abit loud but the music was really good. The Buffalo Wings were fantastic and they have tons of varieties of local beer. Some of my collegues had the Big Burger and they loved it. Must give this old cool place a recommendation.

“Cheesy feet”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2013

I went here with a colleague who was saying great things. It seems a good old style american pub (it has Irish roots, but to be fair it's in america and so it's american irish) with a big crowd. Unfortunately it stank of smelly feet and as a result we moved on pretty sharp.
It was pretty cheap though and people do have good things to say about it.

“Step Back”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012

Step back in history w/ a visit to this oldest (dark) pub in Philadelphia, currently & riotously decorated for Christmas! The old wood bar is a classic, brimming over w/ a large variety of draft beers & with consistently cordial waitresses & a bubbling pot of free homemade soup to accompany a no-nonsense meal, it's one of the best buys in Philly. Recently - over competent blt's - an 85 year old Quaker friend informed me that she & her husband courted at McGillans fifty years ago & it hasn't changed since!
