“Nice place to get Info”
Reviewed July 3, 2014

This was a nice place to get info about the area. Also centrally located for restrooms and refreshments. There was a nice area with history of the city and surrounding neighborhoods. Greta place for Familys to regroup.

“Good start to our day”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

We stopped in here to pick up our tickets for Independence Hall. The staff was very knowledgeable and also gave us a great recommendation for lunch - High Street on Market, down near 3rd St. It was disappointing that one of the movies didn't have sound.

“All the information you need”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

This place is great if you've never been to Philadelphia before. They have tour brochures and you can book several tours through them including the Big Bus Tour and Independence Hall tickets. It's located on Independence Mall across from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell at 6th and Market Sts. There are clean public restroom facilities here and a gift shop shop. There are two theaters where they show different documentaries on the history of Philadelphia and so on which is nice for a break after all that walking. You can even get a light lunch in the visitor center. They are open daily until 7pm in the summer months.

“The Starting Point for History in Philly”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

Keep in mind that all the tours for Independence Hall have to start with tix obtained here at the Visitor Center. Tix are free, but they care first come, first served, so arrive early. I was a single tourist and showed up late with the luck to pick up a ticket that was left after a group cancelled, but don't necessarily count on that happening. The Center it self is large and quite able to entertain for at least an hour or so. There is parking (which can fill quickly), a gift shop, small theaters, a help desk, and various exhibits/displays. I will also mention that it is a great place to hide from the heat in the AC if there on a sweltering summer day.

Lots of cool and FREE info. Plus you can get your picture taken with Rockey ( a replica of the famous statue).
