Nothing special about this place. If you are looking for information it is a good place to visit. Don't by food here. Way over prices and not that good.

There are plenty of other places to grab a quick snack rather than here.

Don't miss the two films and the historical timeline area. You can also find bus tour vendors on the property.

The Independence Visitor Center is not the home of the Liberty Bell as many of the reviews and photos may lead one to believe; the Liberty Bell is housed in the nearby Liberty Bell Center. Compared to many other NPS visitor centers I have been to, there is not much here; no real exhibits, a poor gift shop, a small crowded cafe, restrooms and no introductory film. It is pretty much a place to park, with ample underground parking (parking in Philly is tough like most big cities), and an information desk to help with information on visiting the Independence Historic Park and other Philly area sites, tickets for guided tours of Independence Hall and Jr Ranger books and other brochures.

Dear Steve,

Thank you for your review. You are correct in saying that we are not the home of the Liberty Bell but we do serve as the only ticket venue to see Independence Hall.We offer 2 free films about the Revolution in our theaters. Our exhibits highlight what you can see inside Independence National Historic Park. We not only serve as the visitor center for Independence National Historical Park but for the entire city of Philadelphia as well. We humbly invite you to pay us another visit sometime soon.
