Very informative and friendly people at the desk. Interesting movies to view. Cafe is OK, not great.

“Good place for kids”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

If you want to teach your kids a little about history and don't want to just watch cartoons or movies all your life, try the Independence Visitor Center. If you pick the right time and day, they may have extra attractions to see. We saw a woman spinning a wheel making cotton thread/yarn and a few people in period fashion. Not bad for no fee. We stopped on the way to another venue and thought it worth the time. No fee for the things that we did there. The kids liked it (all ages; had all the grandkids with us). Worth a stop. Enjoyable and educational.

“Well done”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

Having visited the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall dozens of times over years since I'm from the area, I hadn't visited since the Visitor's Center was built. I'm happy to report that they have done a smashing job! The center is very nice, new, modern, and staffed with extra friendly people who are eager to help you with your every wish. Parking is not that expensive directly under the center, and the stairs or elevator take you directly in front of the doors of the entrance. They have a nice cafe area, souvenirs, rest rooms, and a bank of staff that can act as your concierge to get you on tours or get tickets to most of the great attractions Philadelphia has to offer. This is where you have to get your timed tour ticket to visit Independence Hall even though there is no charge. You do not need a ticket to see the Liberty Bell and you can even see the Bell quite well just from outside the building if the lines are just too long. Having been to many visitors centers around the world I can say that this is one of the better ones. Well done Philadelphia.

This is such a nice visitors center. The city has done a great job of preserving the history of our country. I thought the gift shop was very nice.
