The visitor center is large, clean and has good exhibits. Have the kids to the Junior Ranger program!

“Excellent modern addition to start your trip into history.”
Reviewed July 6, 2012

The location on Independence Mall is pretty good, and it set up for someone to stop there first, and then head to the Liberty Bell display, and then on to Independence Hall. The problem with that plan is the timed tickets, and if there is not enough time to get through security at the Liberty Bell and then again at Independence Hall, you might have to back track, but that's only a major issue in bad weather. The building is well laid out, and while those entering from the parking garage might find it a tad commercial (that is the end where all the bus tours etc have their desks), entering it from the Mall or side by the Liberty Bell allows one to explore the displays and information without any of that being in the way. We didn't try the cafe, but the staff were helpful, and the movies engaging.

“Great Info.”

If you are traveling to Philadelphia, start here for information on the historic district. There is a parking garage here. Use it if you are driving! It is local to all things historic in Philadelphia.

It's between Independence Hall/Liberty Bell and National Constitution Center. It had lots of information. Food was good. Took a break here.

“Stop here first”
Reviewed July 4, 2012

Before we started anything tours, we stopped here first. We were able to get a good idea of what to see in the city and spoke with the Park Rangers to learn about the different tours we could take.
