Owner description: Located at the exact geographical center of Philadelphia, City Hall is perhaps the nation’s largest and most elaborate seat of municipal government, topped by the famous statue of William Penn. Located in the building's East Portal in Room 121, the City Hall Visitor Center provides the opportunity for visitors to experience this architectural treasure. Tickets for interior and tower tours are available here, as well as tickets to other city attractions, and visitor essentials including maps, brochures, souvenirs and trip itineraries.

This city has so much history. I could look up and smile today after several meeting knowing that many of mad men met here to figure it all out in a time where technology had yet to be discovered. It was one day at a time...

Great view from the top but don't go if you are claustrophobic. You ride 5-6 floors in an tiny elevator built for 4-5 people and depending on the size of the others in there with you, it's very tight. Also, the tower gets very hot since there is no air conditioning in the elevator or at the top of the building. We went at 1100 and the temp was already 88 degrees. This is probably best for early morning or spring and fall when temps are more moderate.

When I visited, this building was being repaired so I don't know if there's anything worth seeing inside (also not sure it's possible to enter).

However, the building itself is amazingly beautiful, one of the best I've seen on my trip to the United States. In case you're concerned about visiting just for this specific building, keep in mind that there are a lot of great buildings in the surrounding area and it's right next to a metro station.

I'm not big on tours. I like to take my time and learn via internet before listening first hand. I did love the building and the time spent with my children learning.

In the middle of market street, it stands tall and beautiful. It's a magnificent sight, especially downtown amongst the skyscrapers and bustling city of buses and crowds. You can walk right through it to get to different sides of Market Street and there are gift shops inside and things to see. It's very unique.
