This was our first time in Philadelphia and we were not disappointed. The Park officers and tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and made the experience more fulfilling. Highly recommended.

Historical landmark which is a must when visiting Philadelphia. Looked great on a sunny but cold December Sunday morning and worth a long walk around the buildings and surrounding parks. Caught out after visiting Liberty Bell in not realising that I needed a ticket to gain entry and that required me to retrace my steps back to the Information Centre.
Just need to be organised. Luckily not too many queues but I guess it might be manic at other times of the year.

Beautiful gem in the middle of the city rush! Amazing architecture and history behind it. Just think of all the people and events that took place there!

The Independence Hall tour was interesting--really a great learning experience. So much of history is sugar coated, this gives you a feel for what it was really like for those forging a new nation. Independence was really a last resort.

Also, did you know that the Liberty Bell was not named for its connection to our independence from Britain, but for the movement for freedom of the slaves and for equal rights? Learned this in the Visitors Center exhibit, which is also very well done.

If you go are going to Independence Hall keep in mind that you need to sign up for the tour ahead of time, which you can do online. Tickets are free, but you need to reserve a time. Then pick up your tickets at the Visitors Center. You can park underneath the Constitution Center, which is very convenient and another good stop on your visit.

An awesome experience. Seeing there the Constitution was signed. The Declaration of Independence history. Seeing our first House of Representatives meet and our first senate. If you like history at all you will love this!
