So humbling and joyous to stand where Washington and Jefferson , Adams Franklin and Monroe stood - to see where they sat and when the fate of the nation was in the balance - to see where they hung together so that they would not hang separately

My visit to Independence Hall was the second in 6 years. Since we were there on a beautiful January day, no reservations were necessary. Our tour guide was outstanding, explaining major historical facts, but also including some "little" incidents that usually are not included in the average history book. It was free, so the price is right.

I love visiting historical sites. The stuff which you read in books, watch in documentaries and movies has a altogether different meaning if you visit the actual place where it happened. Independence hall is one of the place, when you see chairs, hall and surrounding where all the law makers sat and signed the papers of independence and formed a constitution, you feel like you got the part of history in you.
When you see the ambiance, you cant help but imagine in your mind how the things might have unfolded and how everything happened. Guide also explains everything in very informative way.
We liked everything here...

Give yiurself time, have questions and a guidemap to tour the building. It is like you can transport and be a part of history. For children school age is a significant experience as they learn and have fun.
