Seeing the Bell is interesting, there is plenty of history and a lot of stories to go with it. However, it tends to be a long line to get inside, and when you finally make it, a bit underwhelming.

It's a big bell. You can take pictures near it. Then you're done.

We traveled here with our young children (ages 2 & 4). My 4 year-old had read a book about the Liberty Bell, so he was very excited to see it. The Liberty Bell is housed in a small, museum-like building. You cannot simply walk into the building. We had to wait in line and our bags were also checked. Fortunately, we got there very early in the morning. The line was not very long and it moved quickly. (We happened to walk by the building again around Noon...and the line was much longer). So, it seems like a good idea to get there early. There is also lots of historic information posted around the outside of the building. It is definitely worth taking the time to see!

Yes, go in and take your picture. You will have to fight amongst the others wanting that precious photo opportunity, but it will be worth it. The museum itself talks about the history of the bell and may be of interest to you, although it was of little interest to me.
