All I can say is that the hotel's bar and restaurant was the best. Herb, the bartender, was wonderful to talk to and a great source of information about the city. Also the location of the hotel was great...right in the center of things. Can't wait to stay here again!

We arrived to stay one night for a concert at the Spectrum. We arrived via rail from the PHL airport and it took us about 2 blocks from the hotel. The walk from there was very easy and scenic. The DT is right in City Center and has great views.
We checked in with ease and was upgraded to the HHonors floor. It was the 21st floor I think. We had a corner Queen room. It was pretty spacious for two.
Unfortunately the pool was undergoing renovations while we were there, but it was pretty cold outside so it didnt effect us at all.
After arriving at the DT we went about 10 yards over to the subway and caught it down to the arena. Very convenient. And the ride back via subway was unevenetful and easy as well.
So nice rooms, very friendly service, and GREAT location. Would definetely stay here again. i can't comment on the rate at all since it was free with my Hhonor points.

From the moment I entered the hotel the service was great! Everyone was friendly and helpful. I loved my room. (my favorite part) It was spotless and had everything I needed, even a view! The room service was prompt and the food fantastic. The location was great! Easy assess to public transportation and a nice, safe walk to places such as Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Convention Center, etc. The warm cookie at check-in wasn't too bad either!

Always stay here when I want to overnight in town. The rooms are nice, roomy and clean. The people are friendly. The rates are reasonable. At it is right in the heart of center city.

We decided instead od driving back to the suburbs after such a great concert that we plan an overnight stay and take the subway to and from the concert. The Locust Street stop was right outside the door which was untra convenient. The front desk check-in staff was not on top of their game and not overly friendly. The morning staff the next day was more friendly. We had a corner room on a high floor which was clean and comfortable. The "O" Bistro was out stop was drinks and dinner before the concert. The waiter and competant and friendly and happy hour was in progress so the price was right!

Just enjoyed a three night stay at the Doubletree Philadelphia. I booked the hotel via its website and got a very good rate of $115/night.

Location: In one word - perfect. Located right on S. Broad Street, the hotel is ideally located for exploring Center City. We were visiting Philly for an Eagles game and there's a subway stop right outside the hotel door that takes you directly to the Sports Complex (Lincoln Financial Field, Citizen's Bank Park and the Wachovia Centre). The area around the hotel felt very safe for walking and exploring.

Rooms: Our room (#2005) had two queen beds, a flat screen TV and ample space. The A/C unit and heater were really easy to use and we were able to adjust the temperature of the room in a matter of minutes. There was a bit of noise audible from the rooms on either side of us. You could hear the TV from the next room, but turning our room's fan on took care of that. Small nits: there was some paint peeling from the ceiling in the shower and a light that burnt out in the bathroom was not replaced during our stay (we didn't ask, and really didn't mind). The room had a great view north toward City Hall. The bed was very comfortable, good linens and ample pillows were provided.

Staff: Front desk staff at check in were very polite. As we have been to Philly before, we didn't require much assistance from hotel staff.

Amenities: The chocolate chip cookies at check-in are a great touch - warm and gooey. We ordered hotel room service for breakfast one day - it was pretty standard hotel fare. On our departure day we had a leisurely breakfast (buffet). Food was ok, again, pretty standard hotel food. The made to order waffles were pretty good. Staff in the restaurant were very polite and prompt.

All in all, this was a great value hotel for the rate we obtained. I wouldn't hesitate staying here again the next time (hopefully soon) I'm in town for an Eagles game.
