“Great Location”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

This hotel is in a perfect location if you are visiting Philly. It is within walking distance to all of the city's attractions. The hotel staff is well trained, pleasant, and helpful. The rooms are fairly typical for Marriott although the overall feel of the hotel is dated....perhaps it is the color scheme of the hallways etc. I have to say, I always sleep well at a Marriott. It's something about their beds! Two negatives....parking is expensive, and wireless internet is not free.

This is a great hotel for visiting the city of Philadelphia. Its in a perfect location - right in the heart of downtown Philadelphia - right next to City Hall. Its close to public transportation which makes getting around the city easy. Its also situated right next to Reading Terminal Market, city tour busses, and tons of great restaurants and convenient shops. The staff was super friendly and accommodating; they let me check in early and offered me extra points due to the fact that the lounge was closed. They also allowed for a late checkout the following day. Perfect location for Philly travelers.

From the bellman at the front door all the way to the servers in the lounge on the top floor, the staff at this hotel were friendly, accommodating and professional. Among the best I've ever encountered at any Marriott.

Great location, huge property. Abundant facilities - resto and big lobby bar that handles crowds and rushes well, plenty of elevator service, rooms well maintained - clean, very comfortable albeit not luxe, perhaps a bit dated - mini-fridges for storing Reading Terminal excesses. Better than expected gym (24-hour, I believe), lap pool plus "splash" area (sort of unique T shape) Check-in quick and smooth (except for being given wrong room number on key sleeve), knowledgeable and enthusiastically helpful desk staff. Valet parking quick to retrieve car. Very minor point - in four day stay, never seemed to get full compliment of room products - something always missing (coffee pack, conditioner, etc). Didn't use biz center or meeting facilities as events were held in convention center. Purely personal level, would like to have seen a Jacuzzi/sauna/steam room but again personal thing. Pricing quite reasonable to value. Summary: Excellent example of three-star property.

It was a beautiful hotel, nice room and good staff. The only thing I was not so impressed with was the need of key to use the elevators. Without key you can simply get stuck on one floor and wait for another visitor hoping that person would have key with him/her. Parking is ridiculously expensive ~ $45/day with taxes.

Room Tip: You can park your car in a parking lot right across the hotel's main entrance and save few dolla...

We stayed at the Philadelphia Marriott for my niece's college graduation. I had my 11 yr old son with me and the hotel was very kid friendly (small but good indoor pool where he met other kids his age and had fun swimming). There was something to do for everyone...easy walking distance to most sights. Staff was helpful and nice. I'd definitely go back.

Very clean Hotel, rather expensive for the average traveler, nice facilities (internet, lifts, conference centre etc). Breakfast is not included in accommodation and internet has to be paid for separately.
For the budget traveler meals can be taken at nearby supermarkets or the flea market near by
