“Excellent place to stay while on business.”
Reviewed April 9, 2013 via mobile

I stayed at this hotel while I was attending a conference at the Philadelphia Convention Center. If you're staying here on business and are attending a conference there it is the perfect place to stay since its connected directly to the convention center.

Otherwise it seems like a typical Marriott, my bed wasn't the most comfortable bed (it was one of the ones that folds down from the ceiling) but I got a free upgrade to a bigger room with it when I checked in. The room was nice and spacious and impeccably clean. The major quibble I had was how small the bathroom was in comparison to the actual room itself.

Service was friendly and courteous and on point considering that the hotel was at maximum, and the concierge was very helpful when I consulted him regarding well reviewed restaurants that offered a gluten free menu.

This hotel has an opulent lobby, lovely rooms and easy access from the Pennsylvania Conference Center. The bed was comfy - and the wifi worked well. The elevators were sometimes slow which caused lines of people waiting for a ride, and I was disappointed that no breakfast was included for the price that we paid, but this often seems to be the case in higher priced hotels.

I am in Philadelphia for a conference; returning after 4 years. The last time, the quality was very average. This time, the quality is amazing. My room is spotless. The food at the conference has been great. The employees are helpful and go out of their way to assist with anything I need. Lots of floors but also lots of elevators. Never have to wait long if at all.

I'll be back !!!

Room Tip: Views are better from the top.

I'm a business traveler and regularly visit the Philadelphia area. The Marriott downtown is the nicest, cleanest and quietest hotel in the area. If you frequent Marriott properties then you'll have access to a nice lounge that serves a great breakfast. Scrambled eggs and bacon every day (at least every normal business day that I've been there). Fresh juice, fruits, yogurt and an assortment of pastries. The hotel restaurant has a nice selection of beer on tap and serves good food albeit a bit pricey. If you're willing to take a 5 minute walk there are a host of other local restaurants in the area that are much better than the Hard Rock Cafe that's across the street. Head south on 13th street towards Chestnut St. That area has several great restaurants in a variety of price ranges.

Room Tip: Higher the room the less street noise you hear.

Great hotel for business travel as well as personal. Located in downtown there is lots to see and do. Cool historical sites, great restaurants. I was here for a business conference and it has to be one of the better locations I've been to for conferences.

The location is probably the most positive thing to say about the hotel. We got this hotel on a last minute bid on Priceline for a Presidents Day weekend trip. We got a very good rate, compared to the retail rate for our dates.

The hotel is in a good location for walking to the area attraction. The service at check in was prompt and friendly. Our room was clean and nice, but very dark, with windows to other rooms in the hotel, able to look in to our room. There was no information in the room about the hotel amenities. There was a pool somewhere?? No TV channel list. The hotel is huge. Parking is $45, which hurt. Starbucks in the lobby was convenient for morning coffee.

The concierge was friendly and eager to help. There is a nice virtual concierge in the lobby if you like to look up things on your own.

Overall, if you get a great price, this place is fine, but lacking in personality.

Room Tip: Ask for a sunny room, that does not have catacorner windows from the room next door.

Getaway Weekend in Philadelphia. I am a Marriott Clug Member, but Pricelined the Marriott Downtown in Philly for $ 120... which is quite a savings. Hotel was immaculate, staff exceptional. Pay the $ 46 for the valet parking, parking in this area is crazy. Location is perfect. You can walk to the Reading Terminal Market, Hard Rock Cafe, there is a Metro Station 1/2 block from the hotel, but we walked 6 blocks down Broad Street to the Merriam Theater for a Blue Man Group concert. Broad Street is well lit, full of shops restaurants. Nice lounge, nice large areas in the lobby to sit. Rooms clean, I am a BedBug freak.... checked the room extensively, no sign of anything. I highly recommend this hotel.
