Spent one night there for a concert at the nearby Wells Fargo Arena. We booked it because it was pet friendly and we were bringing a cat. The decor was very modern and had a young and hip vibe. The problem was that will attract a young and loud crowd. Upon our return from the concert at midnight their bar was opened and it sounded like a frat party in the lobby (if you are looking for a sophisticated cool lounge bar scene, this is NOT it!) We assumed that was just confined to the lobby, but quickly realized there was a party in the room next to ours. By 1am we had to call down to the front desk because there were people screaming/laughing/yelling up and down the hallway and with every entering and departing guest in the room next to ours, their door slammed and shook our room (was happening every minute). The front desk said security was coming up but they never came. By 2am we attempted to call front desk again but their silly "modern" phone wouldn't work properly for us to even get through to the front desk and we were so exhausted we fell asleep anyway amidst the slamming doors every few minutes. We were so disappointed in the response of the front desk. It seems the staff is very nice, but very young and inexperience and left to run the place with no signs of management around for guidance. Their "cafe" area is super over-priced for awful cafeteria cart food with the slimmest selection. We paid $30 for a salad that was essentially rotten lettuce with 4 cubes of synthetic chicken, a veggie wrap soaked in the ice water from the ziplock bags of ice that was used to keep it chilled int their display (yes, they used ziplock bags of ice to chill the food), and a bottle of water and bottle of ice tea. Their parking situation is rather strange and more cumbersome than necessary. You could technically use your key card to get in and out of the parking lot, but the card reader never worked properly so there was always a line of people waiting to get in and out. Elevators were also SUPER slow and small for such a new establishment.

We woke up the next morning exhausted, puffy eyed, and hungry. That said, I think our cat enjoyed the stay. It was very pet friend inside the hotel, but honestly if you had a dog and needed to walk it, there was nothing but a parking lot to walk your dog!

I can't help but wonder if we didn't encounter such a rowdy crowd if we would have truly enjoyed the experience because we did enjoy the layout of the room, the bliss spa products, the funky vibe and decor. Unfortunately, everytime we think back to the way our concerns where not addressed and the fact that their food offerings were not edible, we think...unlikely we will return!

This hotel was great! The hotel staff when checking in was very friendly and helped us with all of our questions. They sent up an aero bed right away when we requested one. The hotel had a cool design and my family loved it. Even though it was a small touch we loved the hair & body products they supplied and liked that the shampoo, conditioner and body wash were in dispensers in the shower. A great way for hotels to go green, no more tiny bottles! Although the hotel does not have a restaurant it's two sister hotels which are just steps away have two different restaurants good for an easy dinner. Also features a great pool and workout facility.

We've stayed in several Aloft Hotels and had wonderful experiences up till now. After this stay in Phili, not sure we will stay in another one. Just to park at the hotel is $7 each car (we had 2). You were supposed to be able to come & go using your room key card but the machine refused it everytime. We had to call the hotel and wait for someone to lift the gate (with cars backing up). It was pouring down rain & we had to sit there with the window down for minutes each time we came & went. There is no free coffee in the morning (I never heard of such a thing). Even the cheapest hotels have free coffee in the morning. After pouring my small cup of coffee at 5am, she said that I owed her $2. However, If I brewed a pot in my room, it would be free. We were supposed to get a AAA discount but since I booked it online, it was not applied. The front desk said you have to book the room by phone to get a AAA discount and they couldn't take it off for us. How 1980's is that? The front desk was nice buy no help at all unless you call saying "sorry" over & over but not helping you. Basically useless when it comes to customer service. The beds were hard as a rock and we both woke up with stiff backs & a neck ache. The AC was noisy coming on & off. It got freezing and then hot, cold, hot all night. The AC was so loud it woke you up everytime. We had room 506 so make sure they don't give you that room. We did not try the shower so can't comment. The room decor did look modern & European like all the other Alofts so that didn't dissapoint. And, they did give you 2 free bottles of water in the room. What a bummer, we paid top dollar for the Aloft experience & got a Holiday Inn experience instead. I guess if you're near an airport people will stay even if you are a subpar hotel. We did leave the hotel for dinner because they didn't have a restaurant and went to the Hilton across the street to the Landing Restaurant & Grill and it was FANTASTIC! The food & service were amazing. Too bad I can't say the same for Aloft.

Room Tip: Very European Look, hard beds & noisy AC unit - hot, cold, hot, cold all night

This reminded me of an upscale, European hotel room with its platform beds and walk-in shower. It is very upscale. I went here in the middle of the night and was delighted at the way I was welcomed by the very professional front-desk clerk. The hotel is ecologically responsible. They have priority parking (thinking handicap spots) for "green" cars, and the showers have shampoo and soap dispensers, so no more tiny plastic bottles cramming the landfills. The beds were comfortable, and the hotel was safe, secure and a good value.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the elevators to cut down on hallway traffic noise.
