“Fabulous Services, seriously good food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013

Christopher's hosted a private business dinner for 6 on Tuesday, September 10 and it was a terrific experience. The service was friendly, detailed, and appropriate for our business meeting. The beverage service, appetizers, and main course dinner were all delightful. Their private dining area is outside of the main restaurant and, apart from staff moving to/fro it is sufficiently secluded for business purposes. Or, for that matter, any private meeting that involved less than 10 individuals.

While I did not personally eat them, my team who did reported that the Penn Cove muscles were outstanding.

“Local Fine Dining”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2013

My wife and I dined there for the first time on a Monday evening. The restaurant was full for good reason. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable about the wine and food, and provided prompt service. Our appetizer (mushroom & cheese fondue with veg) and main courses (king salmon and lamb shank) were perfectly prepared. The portions, however, could have fed two people each. The restaurant is lively, which is good, but the noise sometimes can be a little distracting for comfortable table conversation.

“Never even got acknowledged - walked out”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013 via mobile

I was very disappointed after visiting. Two or three folks working, dining room about half full, seemed like they were running around a fair bit. Wouldn't have minded waiting if they had just acknowledged me one of the four times they walked by the host station. Three other folks waiting to be acknowledged for at least ten min. Will not return and do not recommend. Went to Knead and Feed on the water and had a wonderful experience!

“Best of the best Penn Cove mussels”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2013

We walked in without a reservation but were greeted graciously and seated almost immediately. Located on Penn Cove, noted for its mussels, we had the best mussels we tried on Whidbey Island -- and we tried them in several places. The menu was not comprehensive, probably to be expected in this small town in the off season, but there seemed to be something to please everyone. The salads (house or caesar) that accompanied the meals were also excellent.

“A "must" for every trip to Whidbey Island!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013

We travel to Oak Harbor, Washington two or three times a year to visit family, and have been hard pressed to find really excellent food in town. Five or six years ago we found out about Christopher's in Coupeville, and we've been going there at least twice per visit ever since! The place has a great atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. We have never had a meal that we didn't enjoy. My husband loves the seafood stew, and I favor anything salmon, but we've tried other menu items and enjoyed them too. On our most recent visit, we ate there as a couple, so reservations weren't a big problem, but I'd advise reservations for a group because Christopher's is very popular, and lots of people celebrate special occasions there. We're getting reservations for our Friday night outing with family members. My advice is - don't miss this place!
P.S. Allow some extra time to visit the delightful town of Coupeville while you're there!
