“Excellent food”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

Very tasty food and desserts. Only had one choice of soda, perhaps a few more choices would be nice. Allow lots of leisurely time.

“Superb Chef-Owned Whidbey Island Spot”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

Oystercatcher combines the freshest of seafood and local produce with a well-honed flair for originality, presentation and -- best of all -- taste. If you eat in one restaurant on the Island, make it this one. Friendly, even affectionate service, great harbor view and attentive to food allergen issues. A real winner.

“A great high end choice on Whidbey”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

It had been years since we first went here, and the owner had changed, but we still had a great evening. The service was very helpfull and prompt. We split a salad, had the souffle, my wife had the fish and I had the tenderloin. We split the sorbet for desert. All the food was very good, no clunkers. This is a small place and not a choice for bargain hunters, but for a special occasion it is a great choice.

“A consistently good dining experience.”
Reviewed September 18, 2012 via mobile

The Oystercatcher is a consistently good restaurant with a menu that changes frequently. Also, it is a place for DINING...that is, you will be a much happier person here if your goal is to linger over appetizers and wine while you wait for carefully prepared mains from the owner-chefs. Varying pan sauces are usually present for those that like chicken. Everything is good. Sides are always changing and are available at your disrcretion. I love the reviews from people that want sides included or don't understand why anyone would run a restaurant different than Applebee's. There are really only three good restaurants for dining on Whidbey, and the Oystercatcher is one of them.

“No oysters at Oystercatcher”
Reviewed August 6, 2012 via mobile

Arrived at 7:30 and they were already out of oysters, mussels and pork loin on an already limited menu. Entrees arrived at 8:45 in a less than crowded restaurant. Sweetbreads excellent, salmon overcooked, vegetables very good, pasta dish unexceptional.
Portions small, service, cheerfully incompetent. Ambiance fine but place needs work.
