“Lavender Latte”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

I just loved this coffee drink. Also, enjoyed chatting with the barista. This place is a real gem! The surrounding views are beautiful and relaxing.

“Great coffee, personable owner.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

Having been a customer of Local Grown, William Bell's business on the end of the wharf in Coupeville for several years I find it to be a delightful place. Great location, great coffee, extremely friendly staff and local customers.
If you are an impatient visitor from the "big city" and want your coffee "right now" keep in mind that when in Coupeville it pays to relax a bit. To the reviewer who complained that she was hoping for more "kid friendly" options, perhaps going back to McDonalds with the play area would suit her better. It's a store for Pete's sake, not a swing set.
The owner is a very active member of the community and if he was distracted a bit, oh well, the espresso drinks are worth a little wait.
Most of the items below would apply only to restaurants. Local Grown is a store/coffeehouse selling beverages, pastries and local products.

“Great coffee with a great view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

This is a small local shop at the end of a pier. It's easy to miss and don't if you want a good solid coffee, latte or mocha. The scones are done in house and not to be missed... and the views are exceptional.

“Waterfront store”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

We were on the wharf watching the boat race and we decided to see what was in this store. It had a decent variety of local things. But, it was more wine/coffee than anything. I was hoping for more options that would be more family/kid friendly.

“Great items, inattentive service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2012

This cute little store has so much potential. A collection of great local Whidbey Island products- which I love! But both times I have visited the store, the folks behind the counter were pre-occupied or invested in something else rather than the customers. A little more customer service, and this could be a great place.
