“Great Stay with a Good Service”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

My wife and I stayed at Sierra Nevada Lodge for three days in one of their King Fireplace Suits. It was good value for the money. The room was clean and newly remodeled. The service at the front desk was excellent. We had a challenge with the fireplace not working correctly and they moved us with no hassles. I would recommend this resort.

Thank you for your review of The Sierra Nevada Resort. I appreciate your feedback on your stay and we hope to see you again in the near future. New features that don't work are inconvenient and annoying; I especially appreciate your flexibility to move to another room where everything did not work as expected.

I look forward to meeting you personally on your next visit to our resort; hope to see you soon!

Kind regards,

Rhonda Duggan

I recently stayed at SNL and abosolutely loved it!! I went on a girls trip during the week for a few days and honestly didn't feel like leaving the hotel inspite the amazing skiing!! Our rooms were extremely clean which is important to me in addition to having all the amenities one could need up in the mountains including fireplaces, heated bathroom floors and toilet seats along with spaceous showers, robes, loved my kitchenentte not to mention their super comfy beds and pilows!!! The complimentary coffee in the lobby is superior to Starbucks! The staff was friendly, efficient and eggar to please. Dont miss eating at all three of their restaurants!! Excellent food and wine lists; best in Mammoth hands down! Jimmy's is my fav!! Their seafood is super fresh!! After my SLN experinece I ended up at the Marriott in Marina Del Rey........wow what a disappointment for such a big chain in their lack of cleanliness, service, amenities, food quality;inedible!! Dont stay at a lesser hotel after your SNL experience b/c you will be disappointed and only want to go straight back up to Mammoth!!! I'm coming back soon!!!

We have been staying at the Sierra Nevada Lodge the past few years under the new ownership. Each time we stay it gets better and better. The newly remodeled rooms are as nice as any 5 star hotel we have stayed at. We enjoyed the fireplace, soaking tub and heated floors in the bathroom. We love to dine at Rafters and Red Lantern but the new Jimmy's Taverna is amazing! The staff is always kind and helpful, and we LOVE Chip, the sommelier. We flew in from LAX, there is a shuttle service from the airport, make sure to call a few days in advance to reserve a pick up. We usually travel as a family but my most recent stay was with a few friends.

I stayed at the Sierra Nevada Lodge March 26-29 on a spontaneous Mammoth Ski trip. I could not have been happier. My lady friend and I had such an amazing time. The room was fantastic! The newly refurbished rooms are filled with amenities that rival some of the luxury hotels I've stayed at, while still remaining like a cozy lodge. Dual shower head massive shower? Check. Heated bathroom floors? Check. Large bathtub to soak in after hitting the slopes? Check. LCD TV above automatic switch Fireplace? Check. You get the picture. The room also came with a kitchenette that was fully equipped with tons of appliances and utensils. The bed was extremely comfortable. There is an A/C unit that can double as a heater as well, but the fireplace will do the trick even though the room is well insulated even when it was 20* F outside. Parking is free and is right next to the entrances to the lodges so you don't freeze or struggle transferring your gear.

The Staff was incredible. They were so nice and accommodating. Cat was especially welcoming and warm. The staff was more than happy to help you with local attractions and anything regarding the Ski Lifts, restaurants, and anything lodge wise. I can't express how lovely of people they all were and again, Cat was amazing.

As soon as I hear of a Spring snow storm and the Ski resort is filled with powder, there is no where else I would rather stay than at the Sierra Nevada Lodge. It's clean, friendly, inviting, and located in a perfect location. You are literally within 5-10 minutes from the Ski Resorts/Restaurants/Shops. It was such a great stay that I actually booked an additional night because we didn't want to leave so soon.

Thank you for the great time and we look forward to staying with you again!

The hotel is really nice and homely. Friendly staff, a convenient location, the rooms were clean and comfortable.

There's a free hotel shuttle bus to the mountain each day, and also a free village bus which stops right outside and loops around the town until 2am.

Rooms has everything you'd need, although another chair would've been good. The general tone is rustic and quirky (the wardrobe is in the bathroom).

There was a mix up with breakfast which meant that we didn't get it despite it being paid for in our rate. When we went across the road to Rafters where breakfast is served, they said that they not longer did it. Two receptionists said they'd try to do something about it - but never got back to us.

Also the room next door had an alarm which went off at 1am every night and you could clearly hear through the walls. We mentioned this to reception and they said they'd get it seen to. Even so it continued to go off every night.

It's a shame, because this is a pleasant and friendly hotel. They allowed us to check out late too.

2nd visit to Sierra Nevada Lodge after a short 4-night stop last year. I have to say it was great to be back - the place almost feels like a second home to us now!

Staff are all really friendly, facilities are great and we even had the pleasure of meeting Maverick - the hotel dog/mascot this time - he's great! Couple this with an ideal location for both town and the buses to the slopes (not to mention the hotels in-house shuttle to the mountain) and you've got the whole package here.

Highly recommended - thanks for another great stay, hope to be back again over the next few years!!

Stayed here on a ski club trip where we skied Mammoth Mountain.

The hotel is clean, and the decor is nice. Free wifi is available throughout the entire hotel. The lobby is spacious and is a nice place to relax. Outside there is a small pool right next to a fairly large hot tub. Since it was winter, the pool was closed, and the hot tub was open. My only complaint is that my room didn't have a dresser. I had to live out my suitcase for a week.

While there is no food served in the hotel, there are several restaurants in walking distance. It's a 15 minute ride to Mammoth Mountain by bus. The buses are free and run until 2 am.
