Great location with fantastic views and atmospheric lodge a couple of miles North of downtown.

Rooms are small but cosy and bathrooms reasonable. Breakfast is continental only and adequate. Wifi is patchy out of the public areas.

Excellent, friendly and knowledgeable front desk team.

Well worth hiring bikes and kayaks to explore the local tracks and lakes.

My girlfriend and I stayed a couple of nights in cabin 30, which has 2 bedrooms (k/ queen with twin), 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen, living room and flip a switch roaring fireplace. Included continental breakfast too.

It was great. Snowed first night so they shoveled our walking path and stairs even before we got up. So pretty, with view of Twin Lakes.

Front desk, lobby bar and restaurant staff were all super. Tiffany, Marcus and Jordyn really went above and beyond to make are stay special.

Highly recommend dinner in the Lakeside Restaurant too. It's a special kind of dining establishment.

Dear Julie M,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us on Trip Advisor. Cabin 30 is my favorite secluded 2 Bedroom Deluxe cabin, we're happy you enjoyed the treat. Tamarack is breathtaking in the snow, you timed your visit perfectly for our last storm.

We make every effort in Winter to keep our Cabins fully accessible and comfortable for all of our Guests; shoveling walking paths between Cabins, Clearing icicles and entryways, setting the temperature, and prepping the wood burning stoves for a night by the fire.

It's great to hear so many of our staff had a positive impact on your stay and overall experience. "The Lakefront" is truly a "one-of-a-kind" dinner and I highly recommend to all visiting Mammoth Lakes.

It was our pleasure hosting you and we look forward to your next visit.

Warm Regards,

Matt

Tamarack is a historic lodge that has been around for 100 years or so - the location is ideal, just a couple miles outside of Mammoth Lakes and right on the Twin Lakes / Lake Mary / Lake George basin. The cabins are very nice - not Ritz Carlton nice but clean and neat and very cozy - the gas stove that supplies heat in the cool fall and winter months is awesome and makes it feel like clamping. Everything from studio cabins to 3 bedroom with full kitchens can be rented. The restaurant on the property is very upscale (plan on $75 per including wine and apps) and the chef, Bobby Brown, is amazing. They rent boats, kayaks etc. so you can go out and fish/row/sightsee on the upper Twin Lake as well. Overall - a great off the beaten path location and sure to be an enjoyable getaway.

Dear bkm425,

Thanks for your review and choosing us for your lodging in Mammoth Lakes. The lodge was established in 1924 so, our 100 year anniversary is just around the corner. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the "in-nature" feel of our property and Cabins. A great time can be had here in any of the four seasons.
The Lakefront Restaurant & Staff are delighted to hear you were impressed by the food and service. We all hope to see you soon for some Skiing and Winter activities.

Cheers,

Matt

I have stayed in the cabins twice. The staff is so nice and attentive. The place was always clean. Its a cozy up to date cabin. I love it and want to go back!
It is set right on twin lakes. It has an amazing view and it is so close to town. Nice and convenient location that is also secluded in the streets.

Booked a one night stay to do some hiking and see the fall colours. Great little lodge with all the usual amenities. Plenty of hot water and comfortable linens made for a great stay. Complimentary breakfast was very good. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable about local hikes and trails. The only negative is that you pay a resort fee, presumably for cabin wifi, sadly cabin 24 cannot connect. A minor iritation but still a great short break experience.

Dear Mark R,

Thanks for staying with us and sharing a review of our Property. We're happy you had a comfortable night's sleep and a hot shower to wake you up for the trails. Our staff loves the Lakes Basin and we are passionate about sharing all there is to see with our Guest's.

My apologies if the services included in our Resort Fee were not fully presented to you. Our Resort Fee includes: Continental Breakfast, Free Movie rentals & DVD monitors(for use in our Cabins), board games, use of pool/sauna/game room/ fitness room at Mammoth Mountain Inn, Firewood(cabins with Wood burning stoves), Airport transportation for arriving & departing flights, free local calls, and Wi-Fi.

Every so often a router will be accidentally unplugged or the "reset" button is pressed which requires us to reprogram the SSID. We always have the option of getting you connected to another access point while reprogramming the malfunctioning unit. I do hope this was offered to you during your issue. We look forward to having you on your next trip to the Sierra's.

All the Best,

Matt
