This is set in a beautiful location with easy access to Mammoth village and the ski and wilderness areas. Staff are friendly and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The walls are rather thin so you can hear your neighbours.

Considering this is not a cheap place to stay discovering on arrival we had to pay an extra $25 p day resort fee on top which allowed us to use the (incredibly basic) gym and the pool area and a shuttle which we deinstalled need. We had opted for breakfast included which gives you a voucher for one item. Yes one item! If you choose an item off the menu the waiter offered orange juice is not included. It is expensive food and pretty average. We discovered a lovely organic cafe just down the road which is cheaper and has a much better range.

The rooms are getting close to needing updating, but they're good size, comfortable clean and really well equipped. The view from the balcony and the room was wonderful, straight out to the mountains. The bar/restaurant ended up being the only place we ate in the area over the three days. It was great to get back from long walks and be able to just have a comfortable bar meal and drink in the hotel. It felt a bit like a great comfortable ski hotel.

Room tip: Mountain view apartment is top.

My wife and i stay one night in Westin Monache Resort Mammoth in Oct, a little bit disappointment. We checked in and found out the room was in a awkward triangle shape, which it is totally different from the photos on Expedia website. Additionally, we were waked up after midnight by really noisy refrigerator. I couldn't figure out the way to turn it off or shot it down. Called the front desk, a polite young gentleman came in and disconnected a individual fuse on fuse box. The noise's gone and we went back to sleep. Surprisingly, the room got really cold around 5 am. The AC control panel looks normal, however, the heater was not on, even the room temperature was way lower than the setting. Finally got up at 6 am and found out the AC was powered by the fuse shut down at midnight. You can tell how much sleep we got. Although all employee met were very friendly and polite, we couldn't say we had a pleasant stay.
