we ate at this restaurant on June 28, 2009. It was a relatively quiet evening without too many guests. I ordered the duck dish which was good. My husband ordered the Jaegerschnitzel which was supposed to be an authentic German/Austria dish but it came out to be very average. We also ordered apple strudel which is a traditional german dessert and it was really good. Overall the food is good and service very good, but it may not be that authentic German food any more as we heard the autrian chef has returned to his home. I also think the price is a little high: each entry costed about $27.

I had the Wiener Schnitzel which was actually pretty good, husband had the Beef Wellington which had an odd taste like it was fried (?) in old oil. Shared the house salad which was great and the Apple Struedel (tasted like it was microwaved) but it was served with fresh berries that were very good.
Based on the food I would go back but the service was very mediocare the cook was hanging out in the bar area and the waiter was having a long discussion with a friend (?) in the other room complaining about some maid. THe prices are okay but with todays economy you would think that they would want to work on bringing customers back. Maybe during high season they are better!

Never quite got around to eating food because the service just sucked. Don't know if the manager was just that rude to everyone. Did not quite seem to care for the crowd as we walked in, finally we got seated, and the manager just made very unwelcome, and we just walked out. No one seemed to care or ask why or how they can help. It was just fine! Will never go back and not recommend this place to anyone.

I've eaten at many good restaurants in Austrian and German ski resorts, and was disappointed by the food at Austria Hof. Not only was the cooking mediocre, but there were only four "German" dishes on the menu (plus one combo plate); the rest were American, which hardly makes this a German restaurant. If you've never eaten real Austrian/German food, you may not notice, but if you want true, quality continental cooking, you won't find it here.

All the other reviews of Austria Hof were on the hotel - we stayed elsewhere, and drove here for dinner on a Sunday evening in October. The setting is charming, and the food was quite good. Service is excellent and thoughtful.

Prices are typical for a resort such as this, where there is too much money being thrown around.

I'll return, next time we visit.
