Ok so my husband and I had eaten at sho guns once before we had thought the waitress that served us was great, and we left that waitress a good tip! so we decided to eat again the waitress did not serve us well! We had to ask for things... Like refills to go box and our check etc... We did not leave a tip because of the service! Then when the owner came out of the restaurant and ask when we had gotten to our car if we would leave a tip! We said no and explained why. That wasn't enough she decided to come to us and asked us why! If that wasn't enough When calling to speak with management about the issue they then informed us that we did not have to come back keep in mind spending $52 on food! DON'T WORRY WE WILL NOT BE BACK AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. TO ANYONE!

I live in the Reno/Carson area, which has at least a dozen sushi restaurants. Shogun in Mammoth is better than any of the ones in Reno/Carson, though certainly not as good as the top ones in San Diego and the Bay Area. One big bonus for Shogun is that their cuts of sushi fish are larger than most places give nowadays. They also make a terrific Hawaiian Poke salad, with a variety of fish, not just the traditional tuna chunks - this was as good as the best poke I had in Hawaii. I have been here several times over a few years, and it has been "very good" each time.

Sushi is not good. Place smells like dead fish, which is always bad for sushi restaurants!
