I initially visited Campo a little more than 2 weeks after it had opened. Food was interesting but the service was terrible. I chalked the poor service up to the restaurants new staff. During my visit to Mammoth during Presidents' weekend(almost two months after their opening) I decided to give it another try. The initial greeting from the waiter was encouraging. He seemed entusiastic and full of energy. My hopes were high. We started with salad and each ordered an entre. When the salads arrived the servers(not our waiter) could not tell us what was in or excluded from the salad, based upon the way we ordered, or who they should go to. We had to pick through the salads to determine whose it was. It took anther 10 minutes to get a Diet Coke and we had to flad down busboys to get any kind of a refill. To their credit the Food is tasty and quite enjoyable. However the lapses in service spoil the evening. When we were done it took 35 minutes to get our bill. We were never asked if we wanted dessert by our waiter, in fact the only time we ever saw our waiter, after placing our order, was 10 seconds after our entre's were served when he asked how everything was. The staff needs real training. Interestingly even though this was Presidents weekend there were empty tables the entire time we were there. Word may be out on this restaurant's inability to serve the good food they cook. I will not be returning until I hear that they have overcome their poor service standars.
