“Still no Service!”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

I initially visited Campo a little more than 2 weeks after it had opened. Food was interesting but the service was terrible. I chalked the poor service up to the restaurants new staff. During my visit to Mammoth during Presidents' weekend(almost two months after their opening) I decided to give it another try. The initial greeting from the waiter was encouraging. He seemed entusiastic and full of energy. My hopes were high. We started with salad and each ordered an entre. When the salads arrived the servers(not our waiter) could not tell us what was in or excluded from the salad, based upon the way we ordered, or who they should go to. We had to pick through the salads to determine whose it was. It took anther 10 minutes to get a Diet Coke and we had to flad down busboys to get any kind of a refill. To their credit the Food is tasty and quite enjoyable. However the lapses in service spoil the evening. When we were done it took 35 minutes to get our bill. We were never asked if we wanted dessert by our waiter, in fact the only time we ever saw our waiter, after placing our order, was 10 seconds after our entre's were served when he asked how everything was. The staff needs real training. Interestingly even though this was Presidents weekend there were empty tables the entire time we were there. Word may be out on this restaurant's inability to serve the good food they cook. I will not be returning until I hear that they have overcome their poor service standars.

“Great location with so-so food”
Reviewed February 10, 2013 via mobile

The location and atmosphere were fantastic. That said, the food was below average and I would not go back. We ordered three different pizzas that were over imaginative on toppings and very lacking in taste. The pasta we ordered was a generous portion, but lacking in wow factor. If you're here fire drinks you will love the atmosphere, but I would skip the meal.

“Disappointing experience....”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

After reading the local advertising the food was very average! Good atmosphere, place was busy hence long wait for entrees. Campo pizza nothing special, wild boar tagliatelle not to our taste and the frappo salad really unpleasant. Staff were pleasant though and restaurant has a prime position.

“good - comfortable, value”

great location near the Gondola and good Italian food (the wife is Italian and liked it) Not especially cheap, but also not expensive with a reasonable selection to choose from.

“Meal was terrible. Ambiance was lively.”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

We ate at Campo over this past weekend while visiting Mammoth. Menu looked amazing however food was terrible. We ordered quite a few items and overall wasn't pleased. The bolognese was inedible and pasta although homemade tasted raw and almost crunchy. The minestrone soup was flavorless and the beans were undercooked. If you want to take the safe route, order a pizza which was okay and or the spaghetti and meatballs which were decent as well. I will say that the dessert was delish! Wished I had skipped to that in the first place. Overall wouldn't go back or recommend.
