It was a busy place but worth the wait! Great place for family dining! Casual environment. We had pizza, salad, wings, chicken fingers and beer. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Heard from other travelers on Tripadvisor this was highly rated. But our family came in during a Sunday afternoon. Mostly locals who were drinking and yelling at TV's during NFL games. Speakers at high volume added to loudness of Bar area. But I expected this in Mammoth, so know big deal. The disappointed thing was the food and service. Our pizza took at least 30 minutes to get to us after we ordered. It was average pizza, which gave me a stomach ache after (probably due to amount of cheese they use-alot, and amount of slices I ate- too many). Friendly staff was nice. Would recommend families eat in actual pizza restaurant. Maybe food would get to you faster there.

At Mammoth Lakes, California most restaurants close around 9pm. Except John's Pizza Works & Sports Bar, they stay open until midnight.
We arrived in Mammoth around 10pm and looking for a place to eat after our long drive, after driving all over town we found John's, It's a very casual place and a bit noisy because it's also joined to a Sports Bar and there were a lot of young people in therer having a good time.
We looked at the menu and decided to have sub- sandwiches because the pizzas were a bit pricey.
One of us had the steak sandwich and the other had the Italian sandwich, served with fries. They were good a bit pricey but you got a lot for your money.
You order at the counter and then are served at your table..It's a good place to go if you're coming in to town late at night and need something to eat..

3 appetizers and 4 drafts for under 30 bucks during happy hour; you just can't beat it! The establishment may not be the nicest place you'll ever visit, but it's definitely worth it. In agreement with other reviewers that it can get noisy in the bar during sporting events, but that's not always a negative depending on what you're in the mood for. The food (pizza, wings) were excellent and hit the spot just right. The selection of draft beer is lacking, but the low prices more than make for it. Full bar is also available, although we did not partake.
I would normally rate a restaurant/bar of this type as "very good", but bumping it up for value!
