This place was perfectly fine for me. I was up in Mammoth to do some snowboarding, didn't need anything fancy. The room temperature wasn't the easiest to control with the heater but I was more than content. They have some cool snowboard/ski racks in the room and the location was prime. Not sure if my wife would have been 100% happy but for me and some buddies it was good. Staff was very friendly and they had a small continental breakfast going in the morning.

Room Tip: The lodge goes fairly far towards the back of the property so to make the walk a bit more forgiving to the village try to stay closer to reception.

I just got back from a stay at the Alpenhof Lodge during gay ski week. It was very convenient to all the Elevation events, along with the gondola and shops. My only complaints would be that the heater in my room made a clicking noise (metal expanding and contracting) so I recommend shutting it off before bedtime. You may also want to request a room that doesn't face the parking lot, as people sometimes make a commotion on their way to their cars at night. I wound up using earplugs and it was fabulous.

Free breakfast was fine. We liked the price, though we did get tired of having it every day so we ate out one morning.

Excellent. The new breakfast arrangement is outstanding. . The upgraded rooms are very nice. The location is excellent. One minute from village and gondola. We also liked the food at Petra's--it is connected to the hotel--the food was very good, sat next to fire place watching snow fall outside. Will be back next year.

Best place ever! Cozy, friendly, great prices! I will always return to this place every time i visit. My family recommended it this year. Last time i came to this town i didn't even know it existed. Its so nice to come back to a warm and comfy place after a day of snowboarding.

The location is the very best in the town, the most amazing food at Petra's, the bar is TOO good, inviting and friendly. The rooms are clean and the staff are amazing. The only place to stay or eat when you are visiting the beautiful mountains.
