The food is good but for a Chinese restaurant it is a bit pricey.

“It's gone downhill”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

Service was fine. The shumai appetizer was the highlight of the meal. We ordered 2 main courses, kung pao chicken and sweet and sour pork. We've had both here in the past, and they were quite good. The pork has always been prepared without the usual sticky, cloying sauce one often gets. This time it had been salted to the moon. The chicken was very dry as well. Not what we'd hoped for from our previous visits. Too bad.

“Good service, delicious food and beautiful decor!”
Reviewed July 2, 2012

So...we tried this pretty new Chinois restaurant in town tonight. The menu looked good but everyone we talked to said they had not eaten at the place yet...it's been open since Dec. 2011.
We arrived and were promptly greeted by a very nice hostess. We had to wait 10 minutes for a table on a MONDAY night. That's a little unusual, but, hey, it's 4th of July week and the town is crowded.
The waitress came right over and took a drink order, but it took at least 10 minutes for the drinks to get to the table. It was not very busy, so we wondered why there was such a delay. There were quite a few open tables. The wine menu is limited. No Cabernet Sauvignon by the glass on the menu! I had the house chardonnay (not listed- $8 and slightly sweet, no oak) and my husband had a glass of the Jezebel (Oregon, go figure!) Pinot Noir, since he's not a Merlot fan. ($8 )
The restaurant is beautiful. The booths were elegant and very comfortable. The decor was also very nice. Loved the velvet brocade pattern on the seats! Large red lanterns all around, but very tasteful- not garish at all. The servers are all dressed in black and the bus personnel was very attentive. We only saw the server on an occasional basis, but other staff filled in so they must share tables. We hope they share tips.
The menu is impressive, and not too extensive. They encourage sharing of the dishes. We ordered the shrimp potstickers with orange soy dipping sauce ($7). They were delivered very quickly. Five were on the order, sprinkled with shaved ginger and green onions. Tasty! We also ordered the Jalapeno Miso Scallops with mushrooms and bok choy. ($19) we got 3 giant sea scallops that were PERFECTLY cooked and very tasty. We also got jasmine rice with our order and it was very good and plenty for two. Our other dish we shared was the snap peas ($8). This was a very generous portion of sugar snap peas, sauteed with mushrooms and a light garlic sauce. It was crisp, light and very good! We ended up taking home half of the rice and half of the peas for a late night microwave fest. We paid $53 + a tip for a delicious meal and a couple of glasses of wine.
Not bad for a neo-chinese place in Mammy! We will be back! Quite a few people came in for 'take out' while we were waiting, so maybe they also do a big take out business. It sure looked that way!

“Good food. poor service”
Reviewed June 30, 2012

We were told we would need to wait 1/2 an hour before a table was available. After 45 mins we were lead into the hotel, to our surprise only 1/2 the tables had customers sitting at them. We ordered our food and waited a long time eventually the waitress came over as she noticed we were still waiting and told us she would follow up our meals. When the food eventually came, it was ok, but not what we had expected. It tasted like asian food cooked be non asians. After waiting so long for our food and eventually getting it, then we needed to ask the waitess if she could bring our drinks which had been ordered at the same time as our food.
After having eaten and eventually getting order bill we were suprised by the cost instead of being what we had expected it was over double, on closer look we released we were charged for our food as well as several items ordered by the people next door. On bringing this to the attention of the waitress, she said she would re do the bill, which was Ok, but there was no sorry, only I will fix it.
So after waiting for ages, eating average food and having a mix up with the bill we would not make a repeat visit to the restaurant.

“Weird food, not badly priced at happy hour at half off”
Reviewed June 30, 2012

We love Asian food, but am not sure that's what we ate. It actually had flavors that were more spicy Mexican than Chinese. Most of the decor was lovely, beautiful teapots etc but then there were the antler heads in the hallway.... The good part is that everything on the left of the menu is half off during happy hour. So for the price, it was fine
