“Great location”
Reviewed August 18, 2013 via mobile

Stayed for two nights in August. Its centrally located and is clean. No aircon though. Continental breakfast included and staff were friendly. Free wifi included with strong signal strength. Bike hire is $50 per day and you need to return the bikes by 6pm. Lots of restaurants, shops etc nearby. Would stay again.

We stayed for 2 nights, room was clean,Small TV with bad reception,Fridge, microwave, dishes and separate sink, no coffee maker, Average Con. breakfast, with bagel, muffins, cereal, donuts, danishes coffee, tea, milk, OJ. Small Jacuzzi, Propane Barbecue, no swimming pool, underground parking, Front desk is very helpful. Bed is a little hard, we had a balcony, but no chairs outside, rooms in the back are quiet except trash time. Price was average. It was nice, but would not stay again. 45 minutes to Yosemite, but another 1 1/2 hour to the valley, so it is a good drive, We went to see Devil's Postpile and Rainbow falls(shuttle for both) and the Hot creek hot springs(dirt road). Starbuck's next to the Von's on Old Mammoth Rd.

This is not a Condo but a very large room with a fridge and microwave and dishes. Had a King Bed and sofa and a deck. Undergroud garage was good. Wish a coffee maker was included. One of the best continetal breakfast, I have ever had with four choices of coffee with large mugs. I would have liked a tray provided to bring food back to the room. Only stayed one night for their was a fire down the road and there was a lot of smoke in the air and the management was excellent in letting me check out early. Outside of a condo this is one of the best values in Mammoth and it's in a great location .

The hotel doesn't look like much from the street, but the staff was helpful and accommodating and the room was clean and everything worked fine. I paid around $120 for the night, which I didn't consider that much of a bargain, but then Mammoth is very expensive. I was a little surprised that there was no elevator - only a narrow stairway leading to the rooms on the second and third floors (garage on the first floor). If you have any handicaps or mobility issues, this is probably not the place for you.

Tmartin50,

Thank you for reviewing the Sierra Lodge and your high marks on an accommodating staff and room cleanliness. For the benefit of others reading, your nightly room rate was $99.00 plus a town transient occupancy tax of 13% totaling $111.87. Out of 31 lodging properties in Mammoth Lakes listed on Trip Advisor the Sierra Lodge consistently offers room rates among the lowest available in town and is regularly recognized as a very good value. Regrettably and like the majority of other lodging properties in town, we do not have an elevator. For our guests with mobility issues we do have direct access to the first floor via a rear parking area allowing these guests access without having to go up stairs. My apologies if our staff failed to inform you of the rear parking area and other access points to the hotel. Thank you for your comments and we hope to see you again.

Staying in mammoth lakes can be expensive but the Sierra Lodge offers a good option for less.
The room was large and well equipped, with a small kitchenette. The Television was inside a wardrobe and was almost impossible to see, while at the table.
The breakfast room/sitting room had comfortable sofas and a nice view to the mountains, it was great to sit and enjoy the view while drinking a soda.
The breakfast was very weak, one of the worst, fortunately there is a great bakery near the Hotel.

Thank you very much for taking time to review your recent stay at Sierra Lodge. We are pleased to hear you validate what so many other people have found at Sierra Lodge; a great value! We are sorry to hear that the breakfast provided did not meet your expectations. I could understand this would be disappointing if you were expecting a full breakfast. To clarify, as advertised, we provide a “continental” breakfast, not a full or hot breakfast. Our continental includes (for the benefit of those reading the review); coffee, tea, orange juice, 3 cereal options, 3 bagel options, English muffins, bread for toasting, fresh fruit (most often apples and/or bananas) and a variety of pastries or muffins. Again, thank you for your comments and we do hope to see you next time.

Stayed one night on our drive from Vegas to Yosemite. Perfect stop, only a 6 hour drive from Vegas and under an hour the next morning to the East gate of the park.

The room was huge and very clean and the bed was super comfy. Breakfast was included in the price, nothing fancy but substantial enough to last us until lunch.

Only 15 minute walk to Mammoth Lakes village where there are plenty of choices for food or there is a restaurant right next door and another across the road.

I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

We have been regular summer guests for many years. Staff are very competent, friendly, and quick to respond to requests. We have not noticed any staff turnover. The housekeeping is immaculate. The rooms and beds are comfortable. The common room for getting together with friends and/or family is a big plus, as are the spa and the covered parking. The Sierra Lodge offers outstanding value for money.
