We stayed here for one night during a journey between San Francisco and Las Vegas.

Booked via a booking website the booking hadn't come through but the chap on the desk had no issue with this; and promptly sorted this hiccup out. I'm pretty sure if they were full (and the booking website were inept) he would've helped us sort out alternative accommodation.

That said, the room allocated was enormous. The hotel itself is as expected. We didn't pay 5* prices and didn't get a 5* hotel, but we got exactly what we wanted and needed - A huge room, an enormous bed, an enormously comfortable bed and a relaxed atmosphere. Yes the hot-tub was out of service; but even this could've been sorted by the chap on the desk.

I imagine when it snows this place - with its garage facility and proximity to a very lively eatery and bar (across the road) - would buzz with atmosphere.

Highly recommended.

Room Tip: I imagine a rear facing balcony room would be good

Room very spacious, clean and comfortable, but the public areas really need an upgrade. Although breakfast is included, forget it, nowhere to sit and the breakfast itself left a lot to be desired. For the price however not a bad option for an overnight stop.

We found the hotel very accommodating mad were impressed with the size and comfort of the rooms.

Our plan was to visit Yosemite which was 2.5 hours from the hotel.it was a comfortable journey completed in a day, and allowed us a simple trip down to death valley afterwards. Mammoth lakes itself is a o pleasant town ideal for skiiers, with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.

Lastly we got to see our first glimpse of bears in the town, although from a safe distance within thw hotel.

All in, a pleasurable hotel, excellent value, friendly staff and would definitely return!

I recently stayed at this sierra lodge and was pleasantly surprised by its good location and helpfull staff that worked there. The spa was never crowded and it was nice and quite at night. I would recomend this hotel if staying in Mammoth on a budget.

Really enjoyed our stay. The room was large and very well equipped with a good size fridge, tidy kitchenette with microwave and a good stack of cutlery. there's plenty of storage space for a longer stay and a balcony for relaxation, even if the view isn't that stimulating! The Lodge is close to the central area and so handy for shopping, but is also well placed for reaching local attractions. The owner is a good fount of ideas if you find that your plans don't work out. We'd planned to do the Scenic Gondola, only to find it closed down the previous weekend, so he set us up with some great alternatives. Lastly, there's generous undercover parking, with the first floor rooms served by a small car park around the back; well worth knowing as there's no lift available! Our only criticism would be the breakfast which was very limited and not especially nutritious.

This is a hotel, not a lodge. Although it badly needs renovation, it is so inexpensive ($79 + tax for a room with one bed in September) that it's hard to complain, it's why I give it 4 stars instead of 3). The rooms are huge and have all the amenities you need for an extended stay. The bed was too hard for my taste, and the pillows were poor. A continental breakfast is included in a room ill-equipped for sitting down to eat, but it's better than nothing. There is an indoor parking, which must be a great help in winter.

I've been staying at the Sierra Lodge since 2007, sometimes twice a year, and I will go back again. I love the location of the hotel, they have plenty of easy parking and the staff is always very nice and helpful, especially Rusty. He always has a smile and is ready to help The rooms are clean and I like the kitchenette area since I usually stay for more than a week at a time. They also take dogs for a small extra fee per night - totally worth it. I will be back in 2013.
