“Great Steak!”
Reviewed September 3, 2014

Was just up in Mammoth over Labor Day. Stayed at the Village Lodge again and had dinner one night at Smokeyard. Great green salad and delicious steaks. I had the filet and my husband had the 16oz. ribeye. After a long and great day of mountain biking, dinner was delicious. Sat at bar (great service) because the wait to sit in dining area was over 1 hour...so that tells you it is good. Would like to see them offer baked potatoes however...was really looking forward to that w/my steak but had sweet potato mash that was just great as well.

“Great ambience”
Reviewed August 23, 2014 via mobile

We were very surprised to see South African food options as we come from SA. The potjiekos was excellent as was the smokeyard burger. Service was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table but it was well worth the wait.

“Great restaurant with wonderful outside deck area”
Reviewed August 19, 2014

The food here is great but the best part of the restaurant is that you can sit outside on the deck which overlooks the central part of the mall at Mammoth Village.

“Good food, nice atmosphere”
Reviewed August 18, 2014

My favorite dishes are the wonderful spicy shrimp appetizer and the three-bean chili (served without meat - beware of the full size portion, it's large.) The ribs are good although the first time my family and I ordered them, they were undercooked. The desserts are delicious. Servers are pleasant but once in a while, you feel like they've forgotten all about you. Prices a bit high but the location is worth it.

“Decent food, pricy, service OK”
Reviewed August 14, 2014

My family ate at the Smokeyard earlier this week. Food was good but non-spectacular and on the pricy side (probably to be expected given the location). Ribs were the favorite. Our server was very friendly but spent so much time socializing with us and other tables that several times we felt abandoned (particularly when all the dirty plates were piled in front of us for too long). No a bad meal, but not on my list of places to go to again.
