We stopped into the Westin's Whitebark restaurant last week (Feb '09) for apres-ski, and we had a wonderful experience.
First, they had a very reasonable happy hour: $2.5 beers, inexpensive cocktails, and food discounts from 2-5 pm. (We were there on a Monday--I'm not sure if they run the specials on the weekends.)
We ordered a bunch of appetizers for dinner. We tried the duck tacos, the kobe sliders, and the green salad--all were delicious. The sliders were beefy-licious, and they had just the right proportion of onions and ketchup.
The waitress was friendly, and the bar had great decor (sort of a modern interpretation of 'western ski lodge'). The hotel concierge even checked our skis/board with the bellman for free when we said we were interested in having a drink at their restaurant.
To be honest, we showed up expecting to overpay for marginal food and well drinks, but we left completely satisfied. Maybe it's a sign of the recession, but there's some real value to be had at this place (during happy hour, anyway).
We will definitely return on our next trip.
