“Awesome food, great service”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

A group of 10 showed up, hungry and in a party mood! The server was great...he never missed a beat. The food and drinks were very good! I was surprised, since all Chart House Restaurants I have seen are near the ocean. But this Chart House was just as good. If you want a great dinner while in Mammoth Lakes, go to the Chart House!

“Decent steaks and service”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

Ate here at the bar during a trip to the area. The steak was well presented and flavourful and the side dish (spinach) was what I expected. Not outstanding but not bad either - middle of the road really. Of course in the summer, off-season, I was happy to have a decent place to eat.

“In the tradition of the original Chart house model”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

I recently had the pleasure to dine at the Mammoth Lakes Chart House and it truly was a pleasure.
Remember when Chart Houses were young, hip and fresh? In recent years it seems they turned into another big box chain lacking in anything new and exciting. Not in Mammoth Lakes!
This place rocks! Starting with a happy hour that is heads and shoulders above anyone in this town...( yes that includes Slocums). Ahi nachos ($5) prime rib sliders($6) Spinach and artichoke dip ($4) on and on. The most expensive is ($6) but the impressive part is the verve is back at this Chart House. Call on the phone sometime and see what customer service ethics used to be. A welcoming voice with all the information you ask for and a genuine close of " we look forward to seeing you". If you get a chance to have Tim serve you in the bar you will feel welcomed and valued. None of that " flat lander versus local bs". I managed to overhear a little local trout fishing technique as he joked not to steal his secrets.
Seriously, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a dining experience that originally made the Chart House restaurants a success.
You won't be disappointed.

“Overpriced...”
Reviewed August 11, 2012 via mobile

The setting is nice, the service awkward and inexperienced, the food midling to slightly above average, and the prices are excessive. Eat somewhere cheaper and save your money for steak or seafood when you get back to civilization. Too bad it had such promise...

“Very average food and service for top dollar”
Reviewed June 7, 2012

We dined at the chart house at the beginning of the summer season.my chowder came before the Crab filled mushrooms, and it was cold. Watched the waiter take it bake check with the chef and the bain Marie was switched off, begs the question was the soup hot before it went in the bain marie? Ordered the scallop dish as a main, was served the shrimp linguini, the wife and our friend ordered the the maki with several components which was overcooked, the coffees at the end were ok, and I finally got to taste the scallop dish, well a couple that the waiter told me no charge ( well thank you, your mistake ) the scallops cooked to perfection the best I have tasted in years. They seem to be trying very hard to be something they are not, or indeed will never be. And to top it all the bill was over $200 for three people
