The Mammoth Mountain Bike Park is a blast! There are trails of all levels here and the fun is endless especially with the weather is right.

Traveler Tip: Always bring extra clothes, both for temperature and protection. Plus you will want something clean to change into after you are done.

Traveler Tip 2: You probably already know this, but protection is key. The paths can be very bumpy and you will most likely fall at least once if you are pushing yourself. Wear the proper gear and be realistic with your abilities as a rider.

Overview, if you are going during the summer and enjoy the outdoors mixed with biking then check this place out!

My wife and I (both senior citizens) rented bikes and gear and scheduled an hour with a private guide. Worth every penny. Would definitely return.

The downhill trails are generally very loose pumice, but also include very good flow and hard core expert downhills. But when riding two way traffic trails, as an uphill rider, there are inevitable user conflicts as a few of the LA crowd are rude and disrespectful to uphill traffic, as they are not educated as to proper trail etiquette- Yield To The Uphill Rider. Not only do a few not yield, but they gave me a hard time about climbing. They seem to think that just because they rode a lift up, that others do not belong on trails that are clearly marked as two way.
We have been riding at Mammoth for many years, and have a teen who is a hardcore downhiller, however, we are getting tired of the LA contingent of so-called mountain bikers, who don't know what they are doing. We are all expert riders in our family. So, we will go to other areas and trails where we are less likely to have any issues.

Over 3,000 verticals feet and 80 miles of single track trails, this is the place to 'man up' and get 'bugs in your teeth' enjoying the magnificent biking trails.

There are trails for beginners in the Discovery Park and heart stopping trails for experts off the top of the mountain.

Regardless of your ability, you will have the time of your life and sleep exceedingly well that evening.

One suggestion...in addition to a helmet, get knee, elbow and gloves since you just might find yourself on the ground
