The entire complex is awesome! It was a beautiful place to stay and location was everything!! The reason they get one star is because of the on site manager Eric (if that’s really his name, the beard, gauges and tattoos didn’t really shout out manager) he had a condo above the hot tub. On Friday night we had a few people in the hot tub and at 9pm he looked over his balcony and asked us to be quiet, I politely asked when quiet hours were and he said “10pm” he said he could hear us through his headphones. We turned off the jets and got quieter, thinking he was a guest and we wanted to respect that he might be tired. Saturday night rolls around and 10pm hits and Eric comes out to his balcony again to tell us to get out of the hot tub because it’s 10pm. We are all open to obeying the rules, but we asked him if we could have 15 mins because we had a very long day of off roading and just wanted to relax for a few minutes, we did not have jets on at this point and were whispering so we did not disturb anyone. After about 2 minutes he comes out and tells us “get the fu** out” and that we were breaking the law by not leaving the hot tub, we asked to speak to the manger due to how rude he was being, and he said “ I am the fuc**** manager” and to get out now before he calls the cops. We got out to obey the rules, but it’s very unfortunate a complex this great has someone with this attitude and lack of professionalism that runs it, he was a very unhappy person to ruin a great trip for a lot of people.

It's a wonderful 44 unit condo complex nestled in the pines at 8500 ft across the street from the Village. You don't need a car though parking is available because you can walk to the gondola or the bus spots that will take you anywhere in town from Mmth Mtn, to the lakes basin or Vons. There is a swimming pool. Jacuzzi, bbq area, laundry and sauna. It is a ski in and out location. All units have two stories. There are 2- 5 bdrm units, 21- 2 bdrm units and 21- 3 bdrm units. Great on-site manager.

The best part about this complex is that it is across from The Village that has at least 10 eateries and restaurants, shops and bars.

This condominium complex is actually located in Mammoth Lakes, California, not Crowley Lake.

Mammoth has shaken off the “rough around the edges” ski town feel lately with the addition of the Village and Westin Monache, but 4 stars rating here means a lot less than most other resort destinations.

Val d'Isere unit 32 is rated as 4 stars by the Mammoth Reservations Bureau. It's a fine three bedroom recently renovated condo but it falls short of this top rating. Just because the unit has a TV in each room, a Blu-ray player and black Kenmore kitchen appliances, it doesn't make it 4 stars. By the way, the staff at Mammoth Reservations Bureau are great.

However, this condo is definitely one of the best Mammoth condos available, and I've visited many. The location is stellar. It's at the bottom of the Ski Back Trail and just a walk across the bridge from the Village and the Village Gondola.

The unit has new clean carpets, slate floors in certain areas, cheap but and much better than Mammoth-average kitchen appliances, not much of a view, but a nice fireplace and decent living room furniture. There are tons of books and tons of VHS tapes including many kids movies that our kids particularly enjoyed.

Aside from the overambitious rating, there are few other things we didn't enjoy. The wireless router didn't work at the time. The sauna was broken, the hot tub was overflowing with suspicious looking white foam (both maintained by the complex management). One of the bunk beds was so wobbly that sleeping on the top bunk I panicked fearing imminent collapse several times that I spent the rest of the nights on the couch in the living room. The rest of people in our party reported that their mattresses were crooked and not the best they ever slept on.

Room tip: MRB represents several properties in this complex. Check the photos before you make your decision.
