OMgosh, what a great stay! I noticed that there was not an unfriendly person on this property. EVERYONE, was great. The room was nice, luxurious bedding, a view of the slopes to die for. yes it is an old property, but it is lovely. I spent several hours in the lobby reading by the fire, awesome. I liked having the general store there fresh coffee and a bite to eat. And the best thing was the walk to the slopes... Thank you for making my stay incredible Mammoth Mountain Inn!

Room Tip: go for the upgrade to have a view of the mountain!

First of all, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The location is perfect, steps from the slopes. The facility, however, is a bit worn down for the price and the restaurant did not deserve to be as expensive as it was. Overall, the place could use some love.

I really appreciated our stay at the Inn, our room was fine and warm and the staff were sweet. Josh and the bellhops were very helpful and the bartender from Portland and Alwyne from the general store were both incredibly friendly. The hot tubs were amazing as was being able to walk across the parking lot to the ski lifts. Lovely experience, would definitely return. Recommended for the self sufficient adventure travelers.

Loved our week end at Mammoth! Being at the Inn meant we were right there on the slopes and could ski almost to the Inn's front door. Parking was perfect. It's an older facility, but very well kept up. The room was nice, we had a view of the slopes. The staff was outstanding! Everyone we dealt with went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. Special kudos to Josh & Bailey in the rental equipment area. Would definitely stay here again.

Reality check: Paper thin walls, peeling wallpaper, ancient carpet and furnishings.

Pros: Comfy bed.

Not sure it's worth the trek across the parking lot to get to the lift if you haven't had any sleep.

Dear Mtbchik_me,

Thank you very much for the honest review of your recent stay at the Mammoth Mountain Inn, it was very much appreciated. With our hotel situated in an extreme environment, maintaining and improving the facilities is an ongoing process, one we take very seriously.

We have plans to make additional improvements to our facilities this spring/summer. Should you find yourself in Mammoth Lakes again, we would appreciate the opportunity to change your impression of the Mammoth Mountain. Please contact me should you be willing to allow us that opportunity.

My husband, son and I stayed here for 2 nights. The location is absolutely excellent! Just steps away from the Discovery ski lift and my sons lessons! The room was very clean with lots of cozy pillows. Also, they offered a free shuttle service that took us to our favorite restaurants and we phoned the hotel when we were ready to go back to the hotel! Now, that is service! If you ski, I highly recommend MMI!

Nice hotel ,staff very polite and helpful .The room was great with a gorgeous veiw of the slopes right out front with a balcony.
We stayed here Christmas eve and Christmas day .Sadly lacking in Christmas spirit .
Don't get me wrong it was decorated but the staff made no effort to remember that it was a special time for some of us :(
Basic room a little small but ok.
Great Gondola to top of mountain ,you can get out and take pics etc of the fantastic views.
Great if you ski as all types of slopes available .
Bit on the pricey side and would prob have carried on to next hotel if I had known.
There are a few shops and restaurants but most were closed for the holidays sadly.
you can even take your dog if you rent a lodge .
Happy hour is from 4 to 5 if I remember rightly and drinks are half price.
Great hotel if you have children and want to go on a ski holiday.
Can be a bit noisey as walls are thin and the snow ploughs are out all night.Make full use of the ear plugs they leave by your bedside.
Nice fireplace in reception. But a great dissapointment that they failed to provide a special xmas lunch or dinner .What they supplied was ok at best.

Room Tip: Def go for the main building overlooking the slopes and upgrade if you can afford it.
