“Standard Mexican in the village”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

There is always a wait here, but it is convenient. The food is good - not amazing, but good. The margs are good - not great - too sweet. It's hard to mess up Mexican so it's a safe bet but I live in San Diego so we have some of the best Mexican on the planet (I"m biased). Make a rez if you can or expect to wait. You can request more lime to make the margs less sweet.

LJH, Thanks for taking the time to review. Hey, great suggestion on the Margaritas for those that like a little more tart, add a little more lime. It's true, our Mammoth Margarita runs a bit on the sweet side and is a popular old family recipe. However, our "Skinny" is straight up lime juice, organic agave syrup and Casa Noble Tequila so that might also be more to your preference... leans more to the traditional. Headed to your neck of the woods soon and will be checking out the Mexican fare down there. All the best... SG

“Fun Modern Mexican”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013

They have a great location in the Village and a great atmosphere inside-- we were also pleased with the service. The food itself was more or less standard Mexican fare - I had the carne asada and the skirt steak was tasty but not prepared adequately to break down the tendon--which is, unfortunately, pretty common at many Mexican restaurants.

“Pleasant place, gracious service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2013

Standard if not above average Mexican fare, with a gracious, hard working staff to keep warm chips, drinks and table service coming and guests made to feel welcome. Can be very busy ski weekend evenings, but they seem to manage. I had a chile relleno which was beautifully presented and competently done.

“Viva la Mexico”

Happy hour tacos were tasty, they have beer specials too. Chips and salsa plentiful. We recommend. The location is in the village and accessible. Parking across the street or take the village tram.

So thrilled to hear you had a great experience! We take a lot of pride in our handmade tacos and salsa and are so happy to hear you really enjoyed them! Hope all of your visit to our wonderful playground was fun... don't forget about us in the summer...Yosemite/Mammoth is something really special after the snow melts as well. Safe travels....

“Service needs an overhaul”

Typical mediocre fare in an area with limited variety should provide good service. I wasn't expecting much but seriously, the owner should step in and provide some oversight.

Dujoblue, Oh man!!! Sounds like we really blew it. So sorry. We will do some background work on what may have gone on that evening. We have eyes in the sky and will ask about. We see thousands of guests a month with a huge repeat business BUT, we are capable of falling down and are really sorry we did somehow on your visit. Thanks for taking a moment to give us a heads up. If we haven't completely blown it with you, the next margarita is on us should you return to the Mammoth Lakes playground. Just ask for the floor manager ok? Safe travels...
