Warm temp great mountain plenty of space and not long lines. Only downfall is the wind can shut the mountain down

Our first time visiting this mountain resort during the winter season and we would definitely come back again! This place is beautiful, with nice groomed slopes, and friendly people. Not too many people at the time we visited so the lifts were not too crowded. Mammoth Village is also a great place to go! A lot of shops and restaurants to choose from.

We were here in Fall. Offered sunny and cool days with cold nights. Perfect hiking weather for daytime and campfire weather at night. Recommend camping in reds meadow area. We stayed at reds resort. Awesome and well situated to all the best trails in the area. No bugs or mosquitoes in the Fall.

Mammoth Mountain is my happy place and totally worth the $$$$ a trip here sets us back. Nothing can beat the rush of soaring down an empty run on a sunny day, looking out over the snowy expanse of the sierras. The mountain is enormous, the lift system is phenomenal, staff are friendly, and everyone you meet on the mountain is happy and friendly. We skied Dec 30, Dec 31, and Jan 1. Lift lines were minimal and the only crowding was inside the main lodge at noon. The next two days we ate lunch early so had no problems. My kids have taken several ski lessons here and came away much improved each time. For us it works best to get a condo near Canyon Lodge and get all our groceries in Bishop before getting to Mammoth.

Wow! Mammoth mountain exceeded our expectations. I grew up skiing big bear resorts as a child, and now ski mainly Tahoe resorts as an adult, and never had been to Mammoth before. After our holiday in Los Angeles we decided to ski a few days in Mammoth and was blown away by the mountain. We spent three days skiing and still weren’t able to ski every run. My husband and I ski mainly blue/black runs and there was plenty to keep us busy and challenged. We were also surprised and delighted by the minimal crowds. We learned that the Ikon pass was blacked out from Christmas until New Years which really cut down in crowds making it much more enjoyable for us tourists. There were a lot of families and kids learning to ski which was cute. We also spent our evenings in the village. They had a big party on New Year’s eve with carnival entertainers, a live band and one of the most spectacular firework shows I’ve ever seen. I highly recommend skiing and in general visiting Mammoth Mountain!
