My husband and I took a friend to dinner at the Hanoverville Road House. We were encouraged by a half full parking lot on a Tuesday, early evening, must be a good restaurant to have so many guests mid-week. We were promptly seated and our waitress immediately came to our table to take our drink order. We felt neither rushed or delayed. The wait staff gets high ratings, the problem was the food. Our drinks arrived with a loaf of bread-average, french bread, not warmed. We all choose a salad which had a nice variety of vegetables, but the lettuce was soggy. I had the house dressing which was excellent, too bad it was served on limp, wimpy lettuce. Our guest and I ordered the Chicken Marsala, my husband the Rum Chicken. We were served ample portions, but the mixed veggies served were overcooked and mushy. The rice pilaf was acceptable, but nothing outstanding. The marsala sauce was very thick and heavy. There was a good amount of mushrooms in the sauce, but the flavor was, again, average. All this to say the price of $18.95 seems much too high for average food of diner quality. This is too bad because this restaurant could be outstanding with better quality food.
