“Always hospitable!”
Reviewed June 1, 2011

I've spent many nights in this hotel on business trips, and while the facility itself is a well maintained and spotless iteration of the Holiday chain, it's the staff that makes every stay special. Friendly, helpful, and prompt, they seem to genuinely want to make your stay special.

Room Tip: Take the suite...worth it!

Stayed for a night with my husband on 2/12.
Good location, comfortable and clean rooms. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The free breakfast was also nice. We would stay here again.

My fiance and I stayed here for the weekend while visiting his cousin. We were on the top floor. We had a king room. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. My only complaints are the people in the next room were playing music very loud and our room was small. We knocked on their door and asked them to turn it down. They did and it was not a problem after that. We ate breakfast in the hotel and the breakfast was pretty good, for cereal and buns. The staff was friendly and helpful in directing us to restaurants and things to do while there. I would stay here again.

We've stayed here twice (end of December 2010 and mid-January 2011) to go skiing at Blue Mountain and had a great experience both times. We had a Junior Suite (2 queen beds and sleeper sofa) which was perfect for our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids under 10). The first time we had a regular Junior Suite which includes a large closet and small wet bar/kitchenette area with a mini-fridge and microwave. This was perfect for us to be able to reheat some leftovers and to store our snacks and drinks for skiing. The staff was very friendly and kept the breakfast well-stocked. The 2nd time, we weren't able to get a Junior Suite online because the hotel was so full with skiers, but when I called the hotel directly the receptionist worked with me to find a room suitable for our family and all our ski gear. She gave us a handicapped Junior Suite. The only problem we had with the room was that we didn't realize that the handicapped room did not have the large closet and kitchenette area (makes sense if you are going to get a wheelchair through that area). When we explained that we had medicine that needed to be refridgerated they had a little fridge delivered to us within a few minutes. The hotel was packed that weekend and they got breakfast ready a little early and really workded hard to keep the breakfast well-stocked for all the skiers trying to get out early (cinnamon rolls - yummy!, eggs, sausage, biscuits, bakery items, etc). The location is also great - convenienlty located to several restaurants, gas stations (Sheetz across the street with a car wash to get the muck off before going home), and a couple of shopping areas if you have left some essential item home. We now use this as "home base" for going skiing at Blue and highly recommend this hotel.

Normally this HI Express would have recieved a very good review from me, especially for its appearance, cleanliness and location. But for a business traveler there were two things that brought it down. The first was no computer in their "business center", which is just an alcove off the main hall. Their only computer had a virus and it was out of commission at a time when I could have really used it. The second was a continental breakfast that started at 6:30 AM. For those of us that get an early morning start when on the road, that time doesn't work. And don't count on anything being available before 6:30 AM including coffee. They didn't budge on the breakfast items or on accomodating for the lack of a business center computer.

I obtained a reservation to this hotel via a $45 Priceline bid, which seemed like a great deal. Everything about the appearance of the building and staff was very nice, convenient location. Free hot breakfast was a nice addition.

I had a few complaints: There are no real curtains, the transparent sheet that hangs in front of the window flooded the room with light in the morning and probably didn't provide much privacy at night. The wireless internet wasn't reliable, I had 2 access points to choose from and neither provided enough signal to connect to their e-host page. Upon getting to the room to go to sleep around 10:30pm, there was a large group of people in the common area generating a lot of noise, the walls must be paper thin to have been disturbed by it in my room.

stay was decent. beds were comfortable. Breakfast was ok. Display was good but actual breakfast just ok. INTERNET was so slow. Could not get any work done. And this was at late night so not many people should have been using an internet.
