“The Best Thing is the Beer”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2005

If you're looking for interesting microbrews, the Brew Works is your place. With a full menu of beers brewed on-site, and seasonal features that incorporate familiar flavors for the specific time of year.

If it's a great meal that's on your mind, stop here for a drink before heading to one of downtown Bethlehem's better restaurants. I've yet to have a good meal here...for some reason I keep trying.

Downstairs from the Brew Works is Steelgaarden, which serves as more of a lounge than the bar/restuarant upstairs. Here you'll have a more "sophisticated" crowd (as compared to the other nightlife in Bethlehem) with a full compliment of the microbrews and some Belgian beers.

Have fun!

“As Good as I Remembered”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2004

I haven't been here for about 2 years, but it was good to go back. I sat upstairs, where they have a big mural of steelworkers sitting at the bar. The place was busy (it was a Thursday night), and the service was prompt.

Their homemade beer was $3.50 a pint. I had their India Pale Ale. Shots of VO were $4.25, not bad considering a tall double shot glass.

I enjoyed their roast beef sandwich with au jus, though the au jus was the Brew Work's Beer & Cheese soup. It was very good. Onion rings although a $1.50 extra were excellent.

They just enlarged their basement, called the Steel Garden, but I've never been in it.
