I had a great stay at the Hotel Bethlehem. My first time. Had a great meal at the bar with very friendly people. Will stay again for sure. No ghost though. I guess that's a good thing too. The lobby area was historic and beautiful. Parking was not a problem either. Everything was really perfect.

Hotel has a midtown feel without the busyness of midtown. Presidential suite was great and did not have to go far to find great cusine offered by the hotel. Loved the shops which offered something for everyone in the family. Complimentary coffee and sugar bread in lobby was great. Sunday breakfast buffet a bit pricey and would have liked more equipment in the fitness center (no pool). Staff friendly. If you didnt know first Fridays are a big event in Bethlehem. Although was looking at Italy for this big birthday milestone, I would not have traded this weekend for anything. Thanks a bunch.

I return twice a year to this hotel, this time unfortunately neither to sleep or to eat but just to enjoy the bar and a lovely cocktail. I love the elegance and attention to detail. The restrooms for example are gorgeus and live up to their name. I was yet again disappointed to find that still the entrance porch and carpet have been totally overlooked. This area does not do justice to the rest of the hotel at all. Each time I come I hope that the entrance will be more inviting and will better "announce" this lovely lobby.

This hotel located in the heart of downtown Bethlehem is a wonderful place to stay. Featuring old world charm updated to accommodate today's travelers, it never fails to please. Situated perfectly to enjoy the delights of Bethlehem's downtown which is close to all options for shopping, dining or touring. In the Taproom situated off to the left of the entrance lobby one can enjoy a fabulous cocktail or a delicious meal. The rooms are just short of luxurious with lovely decor and all the amenities one comes to expect in a fine hotel. I have stayed here numerous times and (except for an elevator system that can be balky at times ) have always enjoyed my stay.

Room Tip: If you are interested in meeting a long term resident request the "ghost room."

Hi Kriskk13,

Thank you for being a loyal guest and for taking the time to share your experience. I have to agree, our location can’t be beat. Historic downtown Bethlehem has so much to offer.
We are in the process of updating our elevators to make them quicker and to run more efficiently. We are on track to have the whole project completed by May 2013.

Thank you again! We look forward to welcoming you back!

This hotel has seen better days. The room is tiny and bathroom is smallest I've ever seen in any hotel. No king beds. Queen is lumpy.
Walls are thin. Can hear people talking in next room.
There is no service. No doorman no bellhop.
Don't stay here.

Dear Kelsner,

We are astonished by several of the comments in your review. Your experience is not the prevailing one for guests of Historic Hotel Bethlehem.

As a historic hotel, our 128 guest rooms and baths do vary in size. We offer rooms furnished wth your choice of Queen, Two Doubles or King size beds. We also offer many suites. The predominant room type is King bedded rooms.

All of our Serta Perfect Sleeper mattresses and boxsprings along with our luxurious bedding were new in 2012.

Our Bellman/Doorman are staffed seven days per week from 5:00am-11:00pm.

We would certainly like to know which room you stayed in as it apparently has a defective mattress. Please contact our General Manager, Dennis Costello at dcostello@hotelbethlehem.com

We found the Hotel Bethlehem on Trip Advisor. The description and reviews of the hotel were accurate. It is an old world hotel with modern amenities. Our room was small but very clean. The linens and towels were luxurious. This is a historic hotel; the lobby is grand and the history of the hotel and it's many famous guests is varied and interesting. As other reviewers have previously stated, only one elevator was working and walls are thin- we did hear conversation from the hall and other rooms. The Sunday brunch was not included in our rate. It is a lovely brunch buffet, with an omlette and waffle station and a carving station. It costs $30.00 a person and does not include any alcoholic beverages. They serve breakfast earlier but the buffet does not start until 10:30 so if you are an early riser there is not much to do in town until 10:30 on a Sunday. Shops do not open on Sunday until 12. The town is quaint and fits with the historic nature of the hotel. Visit the Moravian Book Shop right across the street for lovely and unique gifts. The Apollo Grill (also suggested by Trip Advisor) was a few blocks down on Broad Street and worth the walk. All in all, it was a lovely stay.

Room Tip: This is a pet friendly hotel. Some rooms face main street with a view others face parking lot- if yo...

I stayed here on business and found that the room was small, but comfortable and clean. I was on the 9th floor and loved the view. The bathroom was compact but clean. The bed was the most comfortable one that I have slept in in a long time. They only had 1 elevator working which caused some wait time during the "peak" usage. They charge $5 to park, which I think is crazy, especially since I was there for some business training that was being held at the hotel. We gave them a lot of money for the training, as well as buying our meal so the $5 for the parking shouldn't have been charged. Anyway, back to the hotel....I liked my room, and the employees were very nice. If you like the charm of a turn of the 19th century hotel, but modern amenities, then this will be right up your alley.

Hi kkitt,

Thank you for sharing your recent experience with us. Our Mattresses and bedding were replaced in 2012. It is great to hear that you found them comfortable and slept well. As a historic hotel, our 128 guest rooms and baths do vary in size. We do offer several suites that have more space than a traditional room. We are also in the process of upgrading our elevators so they will be faster and more efficient. That project is scheduled to be complete in May 2013.

Thank you again. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.
